Pribyl returns to the Czech Republic

Too bad his knee injuries pretty much derailed his North American pro hockey career.
Missed the entire season due to an ACL tear and in the previous year also missed significant time due to the same injury.
One less RFA to worry about.

Yeah - 33 games over two seasons here. Couldn't really show what he could do since he could never get over those knee injuries.
It is too bad because I thought he showed some potential in that first training camp.

I do enjoy that the Flames management tries and explore the Euro market.
One of these days we will find a solid NHLer.

Its basically a low-risk investment.
Pribyl cost the Flames some medical bills and a couple years worth of wages. If he panned out its one thing, but in the Cap-Era you have to explore these opportunities because resources are limited and if you can try and get something for nothing but cash, you've got to do it.

The only breaks were in his knee ligaments

Outside of Rittich, haven't had a ton of luck with these Euro signings (especially if they are Czech!), but it's good to keep trying.

The one that bothered me was Roman Cervenka. Without the bloodclot and without Feaster proclaiming him our answer at centre, instead of a potential good winger ruined everything.
I think if he came in without the clot and just worked his way naturally into the line-up he probably would have been a very good, free top nine winger.

The way they handled Cervenka bothered me as well. Sure he was soft, but skill was evident and he produced well given the circumstances.

It was unfortunate that he just wasn’t in game shape after being out with a blood clot. The whole thing probably soured him on the NHL.
