So given the meager pay (by NHL GM standards) he was offering, Dudley is actually a pretty solid hire as he's experienced and has had some success in his stops.

Nothing ridiculous about calling someone out for trying to be malicious.

That still doesn't make it bullying. If you want to call it out for being nonsensical criticism, go right ahead. But don't cheapen the concept of bullying by describing anything you disagree with in such terms.

There is a difference between owning a team and running the team. There are assorted staff members who bridge that gap for owners. Some owners are really hands on, some aren't. There are just as many examples, if not more, of successful teams whose success comes from really good ownership. Certainly it's hard to trust that there is a strong "bridge (over) that gap" when he's pulling up planks.
Besides any of that, let's criticize what someone has done, which is fair.

Do you really think that anyone here doesn't understand that hockey teams have staff? Really? You accidentally hit on the right idea with the last sentence though. And in that vein, indications seem to be that Dundon is doing quite a bit more running the team than he perhaps should.

Why? I don't necessarily disagree but I'd like to know what he's done to merit this. I don't want this team to become the Oilers and bring in old players in positions they're not qualified for just to bask in former glory.

I was interested in this so I looked at his time in Dallas - really underwhelming. And same in Carolina to the extent he was involved in UFAs and trades as a pro scout.

I remain confident based on everything reported that either Treliving will be promoted to POHO, or the Flames will just dissolve the position altogether. The primary reason for Burke's resignation was Treliving's growing autonomy and oversight within the organization, so it makes no sense to bring in another figure to essentially countermand that.

NO way! He would refuse to send out a powerplay unit during a 5 on 3 in a tie game in the 3rd of a Game 7 playoff game, unless the Flames offer him a new contract with more money.

Don't cheapen the concept of bullying? The guy was bullying, I don't care if the target was not there to see it or if he was a billionaire. I saw it, didn't like it and hopefully we get less posts like that.
Words are always cheap.

Is this the SJW definition of bullying? You don't even need the victim of the bullying to be aware of the bullying. For example, gossip. No interaction needed at all. Exclusion, same sort of thing. These are way more prevalent than physical attacks.
No power needed either, only an audience. The internet has invented a whole new way to bully someone and made it readily available.
I think several of you are missing the point. A completely off base post was made and the poster was called out for it by several different people. Poster responded by clearly explaining why they dislike someone.

I feel bullied by the 31 billionaire owners. They are actively excluding me from being an owner and allowing me to fulfill my dream of running a pro sports franchise.

Looks like Don Waddell will be the new GM and Rod Brind'Amour will be the new head coach.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Well, he wanted a yes man so may as well stick with the yes man you already have and know who just happens to have a fair bit of experience.
All things considered, not bad moves compared to what could have been.

Really surprised a guy like Waddell would take this position if the owner interference is as bad as it appears.
Rod the bod needed a spot like this if wanted to be a HC though as openings this year are scarce.

Seven years as an assistant. So yeah, this is Brind'Amour's big chance.

It is tough to get a read on this hire in terms of what Brand'Amour provides on the ice. He has been behind the bench through seven years, and survived three coaching regimes. So is he just a very good hockey coach, or is he Carolina's version of Martin Gelinas?

Yup, another example of whataboutism. John Oliver had a pretty good episode on it about how Trump's camp constantly uses it.
