Exactly. He was "cut" the same way Ladislav Smid was "cut". Guy can't stay healthy anymore. The team needed to plan a roster without him in it the rest of the way.

Sad to see it end like this, if it's indeed the case.

The wheels were bound to fall off eventually and at 45 you are playing on borrowed time, to put it mildly.

Really thought this was all about him not being able to stay healthy.

Despite being slow in spots, I thought he was more effective / helpful than not, specifically with the puck in the offensive zone. Was always strong on it, protecting it, making things happen.

Much more effective than Stajan and Brouwer save for a select few games from Brouwer.

If anything I thought we'd hear he's decided to hang them up as he can't seem to get 100% healthy.

If we're just cutting him that would really surprise me.

If he’s looking to sign with other teams though?

Still waiting on clearance from doctors. If rumors are true, he has to shut it down for 4-6 weeks just to play again this year. That doesn't bode well for a 45 year old.

I think Jagr just doesn't want to admit he's done, and I think he also might want that all time games played record.

When the wheels fall off the cart they don't half fall off, they completely fall off and the cart stops rolling.

Which is what's happened. Jagr, love him, but he is just not cutting it this year. Totally behind the play, adding very little to nothing. Hathaway and Mangiapane are both clearly above him on the depth chart now.

The NHL is too much about speed and Jagr might be the slowest guy in the league. Despite what the advance stats guys were saying before the season started, there was a good reason no one was signing him before training camp.

Too bad. Still awesome he played for the team. Glad I saw his only goal as a Flame live.

Just glad one of the all time greats ... like top 5 all time played for the Flames, never cared if it was the twilight of his career. The 11 year old in me got giddy everytime he took the ice.

I wonder if there's a legit cup team out there that just want his skillset handy for a run. If not, flip him to ARZ for Duclair.

Is he really though?

Nobody wanted him all summer when he was coming off a 46 point healthy season.

It's all rumors now

I really want to see the Flames commit to the youth movement, now. It's the formula Pittsburgh used to great success.

Man if this is true... I’ll be really sad. My wife is pissed cause she just got me a Jagr jersey. I’m pissed cause I wanna see one of my all time favourites play for my favourite team a bit more. I’m growing out my hair in effigy of the great 68.
