Cheapest Liquor Store.
The high drinking prices thread got me thinking.
Where is the cheapest liquor store in Calgary?
I will normally just goto the closest one to me, but I'm thinking about going a getting a few bottles, so if I could save myself some money that would be great!
Where do you all buy your liquor?

Cheap- the Real Canadian Liquor Store
But the beer isn't cold. I also have an issue with their prices not including GST and deposit.

bedford liquor in beddington is also pretty good (as cheapo places go), decent wine there too.

Just double checked, last purchase there was $18.36 for a dozen bottles of Kokanee. (From my bank statement, so that would be after tax and deposit.) If you have a cheaper place, please let me know.

COSTCO
The just opened a liquor store at the new location and it's open to the public (no costco card required), and it's pretty cheap. You can get a 12 pack of Keiths for under $17, but I don't think that includes GST, so it's probably a little more, also it isn't cold. But for liquor it's gold you can get Grey Goose Vodka for a little over $30. Not a bad deal at all.

I think I may have heard that canadian superstore is cheap, but many complain that it isnt THAT cheap (if at all) and that beer isnt cold. (who buys warm beer?) I'm mainly concerned about liquor myself, but so far this thread seems to be just go where ever is most convienient.

Temporary_user, off topic, did you get my PM earlier in the week?
BTW, I'd second Shantz's comments about the costco for liqour's....pretty good selection/price.

Two Dollars?
Pfft.
If I go to the darb (my local non-crown corporation cold beer and wine outlet), I pay 15.55 for a 6 pack of Pilsner Old Style, cans. Re-damn-diculous.
You can imagine what the price of 6 stella bottles is.

Best I know of is the Olympia Liquor Chinook (Center St SE just north of Glenmore... across from the French Maid.) I think they have two other locations (never been to either though) at 3708 17th Ave SW and 1830 52nd St SE.
Definitely think they have the best prices I have found for what I endulge upon.

Haha, here I am thinking Center St SE, north of Glenmore... where is that? ahh across from the French Maid... I used to just live a few blocks away from there.
To be honest, I've never been to that liquor store, and have only been to the French Maid once.
Shawnski, do they put their prices w/ GST included?

Yeah Temp they do. Picked up a 26 of Gibson's Finest recently for $20.95 (on sale). I actually like Black Ice and their 15 packs are $15.95 (GST and deposit incl... just as the sticker price says.)

I'm pretty sure that OK liquor is cheapest for domestic macro beer (kokanee, canadian etc.).

The new Costco in the NW is pretty cheap. I know someone from work that drives all the way up fron Inglewood just to get beer from there.
