Could see every team in an international game with the 17th game. As for the extra playoff team that was always gonna be an easy get for the NFL, more money for the PA from a new TV deal that gets two more playoff games.

It certainly opens up exposing more stars internationally than watching the ####ing Jags and Bucs host a mediocre division opponent.

I'm awful at trying to embed tweets in here, but so far the feeling is the star players are not going to go for it. JJ Watt just tweeted "hard no on that proposed CBA".

Was reading that one sticking point is for that 17th game, players currently under contract would not see a natural extension of their deals to incorporate another regular season game. They simply get issued a game cheque, which cannot exceed $250,000. So while lower contract players would probably like it, the bigger contract players, who are also the ones with the most influence, would be getting quite underpaid compared to their contract to risk their bodies for another game. I don't see how the PA allows it in its current form.

My goodness.

Tony Romo is staying in the CBS broadcast booth, with the sides agreeing to a long-term deal, a network spokesperson confirmed to multiple outlets Friday night.

According to the New York Post, Romo will receive $17 million per year in a deal that's "significantly" longer than five years. That would make the former quarterback the highest-paid NFL analyst in television history.

At this rate he’s gonna make more money in broadcasting than he did at football.

Romo really is the best though. I don't typically care as much about broadcasters as so many others do, but I'm actually more likely to watch a game if Romo is on. I've never said that about a broadcaster before.

Yeah he adds more insight than anyone I can remember outside of Madden maybe in his prime and does make the games more enjoyable to watch. It's a lot of money but he's probably worth it.

Add current endorsement earnings from the likes of sketchers, corona, google, and ralph lauren, which quite possibly combine to more than $17 million/year. The guy hit a home run with his broadcast career unlike anyone else I can think of recently.

Punter from Arizona did 25 reps at 225 pounds at the combine. More than ever receiver all but one tight end and 19 offensive lineman.

Al Davis is screaming draft this guy in the first round from his grave.

Absolutely. Heck Al would have had him at the top of his draft board the moment he kicked that 75 yarder in their season opener.

NFL offseason is so much better than other sports you even have the broadcast networks talking trades.

Who thought Tony Romo would be the highest paid NFL colour commentator for only a week? Really excited for this if it happens, always been a big Manning fan. I think he'd a great job.

I like Romo too and think he's entertaining, and has definitely spiced up the CBS NFL presentation, which Nantz needed. But I don't love him like I think most do, frankly I think he talks a bit too much in the sense he'll regularly bleed well into the play, when the colour guy should know to zip it and let the PBP guy do his thing. I could see Manning potentially being even better.

I think Peyton will do a good job. He's done well on TV before and he's a sharp guy with a sense of humour. Romo kind of separated himself from the pack with his passion, insight, and ability to foreshadow and while Peyton is probably just as capable I wonder if he's going to feel pressure to have to do the pre-snap prediction thing.

To me he's going to be similar to Cris Collinsworth right down to the cadence with the difference being that a QB can probably offer more insight than a WR.

Peyton I could probably live with, it's Al Michaels that doesn't do it for me. I don't get the hype about him.
