So long to Serge. Signed for two years to the Clippers. $19 million total. I’ll miss the guy. Also says a lot if Kawhi wanted him as a culture changer in LA. Going to be a hard time replacing him. They have to save the money and make a deal for a big. Move away from Gasol now.

Ibaka signing with the Clippers, that kinda sucks. Would have liked to see him stay. So who is gonna be our big man now? Boucher is rail thin and can’t really play the tough inside game IMO.

And Marc Gasol now going to the Lakers. Thank the Lord. Out of desperation that was about to be a legitimate contract disaster. Especially at this stage where he’s a starting liability. He was really nice during the championship run though.

And the Raps make their Centre move. I’m glad they didn’t go for Cousins, or Whiteside. You can’t have anyone inconsistent part of your starters. Baynes did alright last year and can be a simple plug in. Much better than the declining Gasol option. I wish they ponied up slightly more money to get Ibaka back. That hurts a little.

And here’s a first for me. Three posts in a row. In what world do we live in where Chris Boucher gets 2 years, $13.5 MM? Should’ve just spent that cash on Ibaka. So odd.

Seems a big contract for a guy that couldn’t even get in the regular rotation. I guess they expect to see more out of him this year.

Yeah, I don't see much potential for him at all aside from being the 12th man or lower. Must've really been a demand for bigs but I just can't see other teams offering him large sums of money when he's so mediocre and not built physically to be a contending Centre.

Reports are that the second year is a team option, so maybe that pushed the price up. Baynes is a team option on the second year as well.
Keeping the Giannis dream alive if those reports are true.

His per 36 numbers are quite good - 18.1 points (47.2% FGs, 78.4% FTs), 12.2 boards, 2.7 blocks and 1.0 steals.
Two year deal with a team option in the second year just seems like they are treading water until Giannis next year.

With the money Ibaka took it's clear he just wanted to be in LA

Yeah - I think this is where COVID hurt them.
For a guy on a 1-2 year deal it's not like they could convince him by saying they are staying in Toronto the city...they are going to have to move anyways since they are playing in Tampa.
So might as well go to LA where there is a bit more certainty.

Fair argument on the numbers. May just be my bias but I don’t see him anywhere close to a starter. The counter argument to him not being built for the position is the modern nba is soft, so he wouldn’t get that hurt but I personally don’t think he could back anyone down.

Raps sign FA C Alex Len
https://www.tsn.ca/report-toronto-ra...-len-1.1555537
The 27-year-old was selected fifth overall by the Phoenix Suns in 2013 NBA Draft out of Maryland. He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Suns before joining the Hawks in 2018.

Another one year deal. Next off season is going to be fascinating one way or another.

Surprised no thought on the Raptors city edition uniforms. I really like the colours and the look they’re going for with the pants. Something seems off with the Toronto lettering but I think the overall look is sharp.

The NBA does way too many jerseys to give a **** about a reveal. It's diluted so badly that even good jerseys are kind of like "yeah, cool another one".
