Holland and Germany again!

Top 2 teams qualify.

I assume it involves a Yahtzee cup and copious amounts of blow.

Normal qualifying from the groups above where 20 teams qualify.

The remaining 4 teams will come from Leagues A, B, C, D in 4 team playoffs. All the teams have been ranked, they will be placed into 'paths' after the normal qualifying is done.

So the top 4 teams in League A from the recently finished tournament (England, Holland, Switzerland and Portugal) are guaranteed a playoff spot. If they qualify normally, the next best team gets in and so on.

From League D, almost certain that Georgia, Macedonia, Kosovo and Belarus will compete in a playoff for 1 spot. Semifinals being Belarus at Georgia and Kosovo at Macedonia.

Scotland for the British media fun, or the Serbs for the powder keg against the Croats, will make that group’s playoff interesting.

How many teams can make it through the group stage now? Although Germany is not at its World Cup winning form anymore, Group F seems like a dandy!

That Group F is ridiculous.

You could argue the three teams in that group are better than any of the teams in Group C (or even A for that matter even though Italy is on pretty good form right now).

Only the top two go through. Hence, Group F is the clear Group of Death.

Four 3rd place teams advance as well, so theres still an exit, but at the same time those three teams are going to be tough against each other so the 3rd place team in that group could be destroyed.

Right, there's 24 teams and six groups. What the hell was I thinking.

Just out of curiosity, how did Israel get into this tourney? I legitimately don't know the answer.

They haven't made it yet, but obviously they have to play in UEFA seeing as a lot of the AFC countries don't recognized Israel as even existing.

Scotland qualifies for the first time in 25 years. Will be in group D with England.
