Flames qualify 12 players. Did not qualify Simon and Zagidulin.
Looks like the end for Zagidulin. Flames in the market for a 3rd string goalie

nothing crazy, and as expected. Good to see they didn't jump the gun on walking away from kylington.

Simon says, "Goodbye!"
So long, Big Snag Zag, we barely knew ya.

Lerby and Yelesin signed in Europe.
This is just to retain their NHL rights until they turn 27.

I am not really surprised they didn't qualify Zagidullin. Wolf is graduating, Parsons is not ready for the NHL, while Zag didn't seem ready for the NHL. He may make the NHL one day, but last season was his chance to really take a big step forward.
I would rather the development time go to Parsons and Wolf.

I think Zagidulin realizes he can make more at home than as an AHL journeyman.

They have, but there's no cost in keeping their rights by qualifying them (except they take up a spot on your 80 man reserve list).

Even with Parsons back, I wonder if the Heat will bring in Garrett Sparks on an AHL contract. He appears to be a good mentor for the younger goalies. I know Wolf speaks highly of him.

Here's a breakdown of what everyone was due on the QO: https://flamesnation.ca/2021/07/25/b...ifying-offers/
All QOs under $900,000 and no one who's likely to get an unexpectedly large arbitration award, so it's pretty easy to qualify anyone you think has a potential future in the league (or at least as a solid AHLer).

Fingers still crossed for Parsons.
He's due for an event free season.
Could pop.

I'm curious if they go with Wolf (in experience) and Parsons (injury history) or if they add a veteran pro to stabilize

He'll be 24 at the start of the season, so still some runway left.

I wouldn't be shocked if they send Wolf to KC to get playing time.
