Dont hate it, but I do hate always adding "depth guys" in UFA and the term/dollars always seem to end up not in our favor.
We need top 6 scoring help, preferably big body skilled guys (Unicorns I know)
Hope we didn't waste all our cap on this.

Without a doubt. I like Coleman a lot more because he can play up the lineup. Both are good pieces if the cost is right, and so far the cost is right. I would like to see some term for both players though. I hate seeing so much turnover in the team year-to-year.

I like it.
He’s a versatile player that can play any position. Hoping we overpay in $’s rather than term.

Replacement for Ryan? Or paving the way to trade a C?

4x4 is a win in my books, though I think he's not quite worth 4.

He’s a much better player than Goodrow who just got $3.6M x 6. He doesn’t have the first line hype from Toronto that Hyman has so he won’t get as much as the 7x $5.5M he’s rumoured to get.
My gut is that the contract would be in the $4.5M x 6 range.

My guess is 4 years x $5 million AAV
OR 5 years x $4.5 million AAV.

Do you see this being more or less than a $4x4.
Would take him to 33, and he’s only had the last two years where I’d call him worth that, although he’s only been a full time NHLer for a short time.

The money without a doubt will be top 9 or borderline top 6 so he is coming to play wing or I think Monahan/Backlund are moved or Monahan is going to be out a while

His faceoff stats are abysmal and he was playing RW on TB FWIW. I am not sure he is being acquired to play centre.

Quite a useful player, certainly better than Neal or Brouwer. An American signing in Calgary makes me think the contract will be tough to swallow. Hoping for the best

Was thinking - as good as Hyman without the Toronto PR. I really liked him in the last POs (more than Hyman for sure).

Doubt he is being signed as a center
Love the player. Have wanted him for awhile. Hope this source is legit and the AAV/term are palatable (it’s going to be big)

Just a bit more if I had to guess. Touch more $ and likely 5 years

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
Goodrow got $3.5M, Hyman got the keys to Edmonton, this will land somewhere in the middle. $4.75M per year?

I agree that the ranges presented on this page are more likely, I was simply stating what I thought could be categorized as a win. I think we are about to lose this signing, even though I like the player. The upside is just limited and IMO this is not a key ingredient to giving our roster more success.

That term would be scary for a player who doesn't bring enough scoring for a top 6 role even now, nevermind in 6 years.
Hoping for a Jiri Hudler type of deal. That would be ideal.

It could be the Frolik deal too.
I didn't watch any Brouwer at all before getting him. After watching the playoffs, and Tampa itself pretty close, I'd be fine with it. If he wants this stupid Hyman rumored deal, run far far away.
Why's he gotta be left-handed thoooooo?

Pretty sure he is not a center. At least he was not taking draws in Tampa. Also his fo% sucks.
