So I'm a bit out of the loop about the League's plans for next season....are we anticipating that it will be back to a full, 82-game regular season schedule. Regular season starting early Oct? etc.....

The nice thing about the late draft and start to free agency that summer isn't going drag out as long as it normally would (from a hockey perspective anyway) as there may not be such a long wait between those key events and things like development and rookie camps, and heck, even main camp. It is going to come a lot more quickly than usual. Can't wait.

I do love the games and season, and the playoffs, especially when the Flames make the playoffs, but honestly, the draft and the start of free agency tend to be some of my favorite parts of the calendar, particularly from where I sit in my comfortable amateur GM chair.

Should be a fascinating couple of weeks, followed closely by the build-up to the season. Hopefully, anyway, pending COVID and border-related restrictions.

76 = (4 x 7) + (2 x 8) + (2 x 16) = 28 + 16 + 32
84 = (4 x 7) + (3 x 8) + (2 x 16) = 28 + 24 + 32
83 = (5 x 7) + (2 x 8) + (2 x 16) = 35 + 16 + 32

That won't be happening. If it was going to be anything but 82 games, we'd have heard about it by now.

There are rumblings that there will be more "series" type scheduling, i.e. multiple games in the same city to reduce overall travel.

I understand the advantages but it also means some teams could benefit from certain players being injured (and the opposite) at certain times of the year, depending on where they fall on the schedule.
