Wast just going to post about the LC 500. It's still a touch over designed for my tastes, but that's a really striking looking car in person. Definitely on my list...unfortunately it doesn't seem to be depreciating very much.

Just want to give a shout-out to a super basic car we bought a couple months ago that I'm loving. Base model, five-speed VW Sportwagen. Even the base has heated seats, power everything, cruise, bluetooth, flip-out back-up camera, etc. I guess none of that is unusual nowadays, but we bought this more for my daughter (15) to learn stick with and both my wife and I enjoy driving it more than our other vehicles. Just such a perfect little car...insane on gas, very comfortable, crazy practical and peppy. VW kills it with their Golfs. Also, the seats are cloth, which I love. Leather is the worst.

The flip-out backup camera is great on those. Such a simple fix for the constantly dirty camera and I have no idea why so many others are left out in the open.

I went to go build out a VW Sportwagen just for ####s and giggles, and am sad to see its no longer for sale, and seemingly half the VW lineup is homely crossovers.

The exception proving the rule IMO, they've been cranking out mingers for years.

I've wanted a Sportwagen for awhile, but keep deciding to extend the life of my partner's Hyundai Elantra Touring. I drove a Sportwagen (when my truck was in being repaired after someone backed into on our street) and loved it. It's such a great little car. Sadly, I think my partner will probably want a Tiguan when we do decide to move on from the Hyundai, so my quest to drive a wagon will continue.

I've been saying this for a while now but the vehicles people are choosing to drive are causing accidents to be more deadly (to others), and are often ridiculous ego boosters more than practical haulers.

That's no surprise. So many people learn on a 2-4 door sedan, then jump right into an F150 or something similiar and off they go. I've long felt that pickup trucks and SUV's (F350-sized and under) need their own sub-class of license.

Our full sized SUV sustained some hail damage in that storm a few weeks ago. There are about a dozen-ish noticeable dents (that I have found) on the hood, some on the side on the upper door frames and some in the chrome window trim. I was thinking of going through the insurance to have it fixed (some of them are very prominent), but is it worth doing vs possible rate hikes?

Does anyone know where to get a key cut and fob programmed for a 2010 Lexus other than the dealership who wants $500+.

Cutting the key, no idea.

Programming the key is a process that requires an existing key:

If it's a combination key and remote in one, then no clue.

I don't understand why Toyota doesn't use the wordmark on the grilles of all their SUVs/Pickups, they don't even use it on all the models that it does appear on.

I think it looks a lot better than their logo.

Key slides into the keyfob but is a separate piece

Also BMW drivers, they too are a sub-class

Of course go through insurance. That's your comprehensive portion and these claims don't increase your premiums, only at fault collision claims.

^ Is it true that a comprehensive insurance claim (ie. hail) doesnt increase your premiums?
