Ty Chris Tanev
Maybe I selfishly wanted to create thread before anyone else but honestly, what an absolute warrior of a Dman. Dallas looks to be the lucky ones, you have no idea how lucky you are. Ty Chris for everything and for truly hating the Oilers like the rest of us, one of my all time fav UFA signings for Calgary, no question.

I think many of us, even those who appreciated from afar who Tanev had been, were worried this UFA signing wouldn't age well
turned out it aged very well- a great Flame and will net a positive return
I know this is about Tanev- and I agree thank you to Tanev for being an amazing Flame, but this was one of the later good moves by the GM who now shall not be named

Not Happy to see him go. I think his shoes will be damn hard to fill but I'm confident seeing what Weegar has done here that it's time for Weegar to be looked upon as the next leader of our D core.
Tanevs work Ethic and commitment as a player and a human being likely rubbed off on every guy.
He's like a Martin Gelinas....you know you've nothing to worry about with him on every level....just ask him and it's done.

Sad to see Tanev go. Guy was a beast and was a helluva a teacher: everyone who played with him was better for it.

Real class act who left everything on the ice. One of the best defensive dmen in the league. Really played hard for van and us.

Incredibly underrated outside of the markets he plays in because he isn't a flashy guy, but one of the most valuable players in the organization. He will be missed both on and off the ice.

It's rare to have a player in pro sports that you are pretty much never disappointed with or mad at. Tanev was an absolute warrior for the Flames, and I'm sure will continue to be for the Stars and wherever he ends up next year.
