I could see the Flames resting a guy like Hathaway. I don’t think he’s been playing bad but with the way he plays I could see them wanting to rest him before playoffs.

Someone else has the flu I guess. Possibly Johnny. Would explain why he only had a one point night.

It looks like Peters won't reveal who.

If it's a healthy scratch, Czarnik would be my guess.

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
Guessing they leave the D pairs intact and Stone takes Hathaway's spot on 4L and he gets a break?
But you'd think they would want Hathaway's grit/pk in the line up so yeah might be Czarnik like Scorpion suggests

Gaudreau-Ryan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
Bennett-Jankowski-Mangiapane
Quine-Hathaway
Giordano-Brodie
Hanifin-Hamonic
Fantenberg-Andersson
Stone (assuming Peters is going with 11 and 7 to slowly work him back in)

I think I'd rather Lindholm slide to center and move someone up to the 1 RW. Doesnt sound like Neal is ready to be back yet, but if he were it would be worth a shot. I think that keeps much better center depth.
I think the 3M line continues to roll tonight and Smith has a solid game. Flames win 4-2!

So with 11 games to go, it is essentially match play between sharks and Flames for 1st in the division and the conference. Reminiscent of 1989 when the only thing in doubt most of the year was whether Flames or Habs would be first overall.
Would be nice to pick up the W tonight because you know Sharks are thinking they can pick up a game on us.

I'd keep Ryan on the fourth line for the sole reason that he's your avatar now

It scares all of us, but it's not like we have a choice. Rittich isn't gonna play every game, especially on a back-to-back. And we don't want to burn him out before the playoffs. Luckily the team's offence seems to have found it's mojo again, so I'm confident they can score enough goals to overcome any stinkers that Smith lets in tonight. And you know he's gonna let in at least one.
