Nice....get him 2 or 3 games and bring him up to get some NHL games in before the playoffs.
I have a feeling he could be an important guy down the stretch and into round 1.

I really like the Valimaki - Stone pairing early on in the season and we will likely see them re-united in Stockton.
Gio - Brodie
Hanifin - Hamonic
Kylington - Andersson
Valimaki - Stone
Fantenberg - Prout
Of the potential worries going into the playoffs defensive depth has to be last.

Really good news for Stone. Assuming all options are available, I would like to see
Giordano - Andersson
Hanifin - Hamonic
Stone - Brodie
The Stone / Brodie pairing worked very down the stretch two seasons ago.

Good. Get him back in game form and he slots back in. Wouldn’t mind seeing Stone-Andersson as the 3rd pairing down the stretch

Stone loaned to Stockton for conditioning stint
Good to see Stone getting healthy, I’m happy for him.

I’m not sure I’d put Stone ahead of Kylington on the depth chart. Kylington has been very good for this team and is only getting better.
Giordano - Brodie
Hanifin - Hamonic
Kylington - Andersson
Valimaki - Stone
Fantenberg
That’s how I see the depth today. If Stone does start to factor in, I think we’d more than likely see this:
Giordano - Andersson
Hanifin - Hamonic
Brodie - Stone

From what I recall, Stone and Andersson were awkward together, although limited sample size
I feel like Brodie's best partner other than Gio was Stone. Maybe that's the 3rd pairing?

The maximum length of a conditioning assignment is 14 days, which means he can remain in Stockton until March 19 at the latest.
The Heat have 5 games between now and then: Tomorrow night @ San Diego; Friday at home against Bakersfield; Sunday @ San Jose; then almost a full week off followed by two home games next Friday and Saturday against Tucson.
The plan right now is likely to play the next three and then re-evaluate.

Glad Stone is healthy but he's the epitome of a 6/7 defenseman of which we have about 5 guys who can play the role.

Good move. I think this actually worked quite well for Andrej Sekera to go get some AHL games in. So I think it will benefit Stone to get some games in down there.

With the way Brodie has been playing, this may be best.

According to capfriendly it is a LTI conditioning loan, which means he can be sent down for the longer of 6 days or 3 games and then the Flames can apply to Bettman to extend the stint by an additional 2 games.
Assuming Bettman grants the Flames request, then the latest Stone can stay with Stockton is right after the March 16 game. Otherwise he will be back after the March 10 game.
Kind of interesting (if capfriendly's information is accurate) that it is a LTI conditioning loan, because this type of conditioning loan was designed to allow teams put a player on LTIR a conditioning loan in the AHL without counting towards the 23 man roster limit where a normal conditioning loan still counts towards the 23 man roster limit. Since the Flames aren't in a position to need LTIR for cap space and the 23 man roster limit was lifted on trade deadline day there is really no benefit for the team to do this type of loan over a normal conditioning stint. I would have to think it was the agent's doing to do this type of conditioning loan to minimize the time spent in the AHL by Stone.

Can you elaborate on this last point about what the Agent/Player gets out of a more limited time in the AHL?
He's paid the same, correct? Is it a 'away from home' factor?

Yeah he is paid the same, just less time away from the family and being on the bus.
