Their D has been just terrible tonight. Karlsson looking lost in his own zone and Burns reminds me of Phaneuf going for hits and leaving himself way out of position

What a season so far.
7 points clear of Vegas with a game in hand, and about to be 6 points clear of SJ with a game in hand, plus we have the ROW tie breaker too.

It shouldn't be, this team won it's last two games against Nashville and Toronto.
It's a good group that has struggled with defensive consistency and goaltending. Now they're finally getting it and they look solid.
Also Trocheck is back, and that's a huge shot in the arm for this team. He's the motor for everyone else.
Edit: also, Frank Vatrano is red hot with 5 goals in his last 7 games, and has 4 points on the night. Crazy.

No coincidence that his stats took a nose dive when 25 minutes/game of Karlsson was added to the mix. He's a really good offensive player but he can't play defense.

I figured, but there was reasons for optimism heading into this game you weren't aware of. Just informing, not critiquing.
