Default David Lynch

Rewatching twin peaks 'the return' right now and it occurred to me, is there a more unique director? Thought it was a shame how the original twin peaks series was cut / modified. He's been a pioneer of modern cinematography and acoustic suspense.

What else does he have in the tank? Post all David Lynch awesomeness here!

He is pretty eccentric, and he managed to be able to pull it off. For other directors - I think the Coen Brothers, David Cronenberg, and Wes Andersen all have unique voices, but whose work is easily identifiable as theirs.

Not a fan of Dune though. I would argue that was a misstep or maybe just a money thing like some directors/actors do to fund other projects.

Thought he was pretty good acting in a few episodes of Louis a few years ago as Louis CK's late night talk show host mentor.

I forgot about his part in Louis. Thanks.

His shorts have been pretty adventurous too. Dumbland was hard to watch but, rewarding? I'm hoping for some new material. I think he still has it. Cohen brothers aside there are few that rival him

There's only about 5 directors in the world I'd describe as masters of the craft, and David Lynch is one of them (also: Quentin Tarantino, Hayao Miyazaki, I'd have to think a bit before coming up with more names)

I loved how unrestrained "The Return" was, he'd do stuff that would look really cheap, like an effect in a 90's music video, follow that with a great acting scene, then a mind-bending experimental scene, then cap it off with a musical performance.

The original Twin Peaks, even the weaker parts of the second season and his limited involvement, are peak Lynch. It's so hard to judge a show that burned so bright and then disappeared so quickly but the impact that show had on television throughout the 90s and into the present golden age is undeniable.

I can't believe I was so unfamiliar with Twin Peaks until a couple years ago. Now it is unquestionably one of my top 5 shows of all time.

The return was not as powerful and mesmerizing but was quite a unique viewing experience. Lends itself well to introspection and review.

Not only a trendsetting director but also well known for his hair styles.

Lost Highway and Twin Peaks are my Lynch favorites. I remember watching Lost Highway and David Cronenberg's Crash in the same afternoon, yikes lol

Still one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen.
