I am in new Brighton as well, and I like that aida’s On high street in McKenzie towne. Work close to chinook and have found those boys at the pita stop on 58th across for the c-train station do good work.

As a matter of fact that area could likely qualify as the pita district as there are about 4 other places nearby.

I do not enjoy the pickled veggatable at Jerusalem.

To me the best place used to be at the foot of the car street bridge that I believe was claimed by fire many years ago. That place had a great sweet sauce.

I still think Falafel King downtown on Stephen Ave is great.

This is an AHS requirement, isn't it?

Which Pita Basket? The one near my work is not good. The one in the +15 near Chevron is great.

Why would that be required? The grill/press thing should be hot enough to not have to worry about bacteria.

I was wondering if it was a bad timing for a stomach problem but I had a BLT from Urban Bean on Monday with Romaine in it and boy was I paying for it during the evening.

They don't trust the kebob thing to be hot enough or something, so they either have to recook the meat in a pan or do the grill thingy.

Ah, here we go:

Ah, I see where we have the disconnect. What I was thinking LWCrowfoot was saying was that once the donair is fully assembled inside the pita, the pita is then wrapped in parchment paper before it is toasted. Which often leads to the parchment paper sticking to the pita. I prefer the pita to be toasted while it is "naked."

I see what you are saying, where the meat does have to be brought up to a higher temperature before serving; which is often on the grill.

Yeah I realized you were talking about the paper too after I posted. LOL.

The grilling part I think though is unique to Alberta. Which then makes the tightly wrapped paper thing annoying.

A few years after Fawzi went back to Lebanon his brother in law stopped running Falafel King and opened Shawarma House on 11th ave and 5 street SW. Always excellent.

There was a semi-quantitative ranking done back in 2015.
For all you nerds out there, there's sensitivity tables if you want to adjust the weightings yourself.

If you live in the NW go to Seniore's Pizza and order a Donair. The thing is huge and tastes amazing. You are welcome.

I had a shawarma at Beirut Street Food for lunch. It was great. Shawarma Knight is still my favourite though.
