I dunno...getting the puck up ice working 3 on 4 is anything but easy. More likely to see a lot of icings. The question is whether you put goalie back in after an icing...probably depends on time left on who's taking the face-offs.

The only reason I can see anyone pulling their goalie in overtime is if it's the last game of the season and they need the two points to get into the playoffs. The single does them no good. And even then, I'd think you'd want to wait as long as possible before playing that card.

I'm kinda glad this rule exists only to negate embarrassing moments for the league before they happen.
