Flames still tearing it up, both of the closest teams in the division suddenly hitting rough patches, everything is going our way. I'm not comfortable with this feeling

Watching Sportscenter and TSN had a big segment on the Oiler woes where the only consensus was there is no short term fix, they are screwed as an organization for years. Then they follow that up with a segment on the Leafs' woes, 3-7-0 in their last 10 with Matthews only scoring 1 goal in his last 14 games. My jaw is starting to hurt from grinning so hard

Man, was that ever weak by the Blues. I was starting to get convinced that they were about to get back into the conversation for a wild card spot, then they go and lose a must-win to one of the few teams who are behind them in the standings. Talk about getting in their own way.

It's really annoying actually watching so many teams play hot potato with the wild card spots. Seems like every time the Flames were a bubble team everyone above them played lights now, but now that we're actually good then the playoff bar ends up being the lowest it has in years. I just want two teams not named Oilers or Canucks to get their #### together and actually play like they want to be in the playoffs

You're hoping for a first round matchup for Calgary to be playing well?

I get what you’re saying but that’s still an absolute dog fight down there and I’m so glad the Flames are nowhere near that.

No, all I really want is there to be just enough separation between spots 8-9 that the Oilers no longer have a realistic chance of going on a run and getting in the playoffs. Preferably that happens right after Edmonton trades their first rounder

So you should not hope for that separation quite yet. Wait until the trade deadline.
^Those clips don't even show the 4 minute high sticking minor he took earlier on the game on Bjugstad. Joke's on him though because the Panthers scored 2 goals on that 4 minute power play and won the game handily.
Sometimes that stuff is good to do if you are really in a battle with a team, but unwarranted aggression and cheap stickwork? That's a selfish player through and through. I'll be happy to watch him wear out his welcome in San Jose and be traded yet again.
