Default Mike "Beard Guy" Taylor of Walk Off The Earth dead

Well this sucks, WOTE is one of my favorite newer Canadian acts and Beard Guy was awesome. It was nice seeing them get some serious international attention after blowing up big on Youtube

Yeah this is hard to believe, dude was only in his early 40s. I always loved their covers and I’ve been rooting for their success ever since their first video. Beard guy was the best part of most of the videos and was a great musician. He’ll be missed.

Met the band when they were just starting out as their lead singer (Gianni) was dating our HR girl at the time.

Terrible news.

Very sad news as they were a very talented fun band. RIP Beard Guy

I wonder how they established that it was of natural causes given he was so young and it happened suddenly? That must be sad for his family to say the least.

I assume he was sick with a disease.

Natural causes just really means you didn’t die through an accident, murder, overdose etc. Imagine they’re emphasizing it wasn’t drug related etc.

So sad. They are a great band, and his personality was a big reason why. And much as they gained popularity for their covers, their original songs were better, including a couple that went platinum.

One thing I came across last month was "Beard Guy Ballads" which are him doing some piano solos. One is various pop songs, and another with christmas tunes. Gorgeous work, and I was looking forward to more coming out :-(
