How about I would be shock if there is not a HOF here ? 🤪

I just love how you don't even see yourself.
Every EVERY team in the NHL doesn't have any players past their top ten prospects that are even remotely expected to be a REGULAR.
Yet you feel the need to soil the whole process.
Like I said ... you're blind man. You're glass is not only half full, it's cracked and dirty as hell.
And Rittich was a number one goaltender for a year and a half and very much a regular.

No love for Gawdin anymore? We're projecting depth level players now, and I think he'd be useful as a fourth liner.

I don't think he is.
He doesn't have the foot speed.

He still needs to be signed too, though he's grouped in with the NHL roster.
I suppose we'll see.

Well if your talking hockey and the Flames are your team. If most or not all your time isnt spent complaining id have to question how much you like or even follow the team.
Maybe he just cares more than you?

Only one player left in my third tier, Ryan Francis.
Considered
Ryan Francis
Ryan Francis
Similar to Jakob Pelletier in both height and per-game production, Francis is another "undersized" player who isn't afraid to get to the tough areas of the ice. In fact, this season, a handful of Francis' goals came within an arm's length of the blue paint. Though not possessing notable straight-line speed, Francis can be described using a term that has become prevalent in hockey parlance: a waterbug. In the neutral and offensive zones, Francis has the ability to take advantage of his lower centre of gravity by controlling defenders' feet and hips with shifty and erratic movement. This season, I saw a regression in defensive play from the winger-turned-centre but that was offset by a commensurate progression in offensive ability - Francis actually outpaced the highly-regarded Pelletier albeit by a sliver. All those positives in mind, translating an offence-focused game at 5'10 is more difficult than a defensive-focused game so his time in the AHL will tell us a lot. Wide variance player.
Ceiling: 2nd-line winger
Probable: AHL tweener (Style: Dillon Dube)
Floor: Bust
Next Group
My fourth tier are all players with potential to play but with greater uncertainty than the previous tier for an array of reasons.
Jeremie Poirier (erratic)
Ilya Solovyov (upside)
Rory Kerins (missed basically the entire season)
Cole Huckins (skating/defensive commitment)
Emil Heineman (upside)
Martin Pospisil (upside)
Adam Ruzicka (tweener?)
Yan Kuznetsov (upside)

Here is how the two public models see this round's clear winner. Please note that the criteria each model uses for star and NHLer is different! JFresh/TopDownHockey will almost always be lower than Bader's as their thresholds are a much higher standard so adjust accordingly.
Hockey Prospecting
Calgary's own, and fellow Flames fan, Byron Bader runs the excellent site, Hockey Prospecting. You have likely seen his graphics before. At just $25/year his site is a wonderful resource for any fan interested in prospects. You can register here and support Bader's work if you are interested: https://hockeyprospecting.com/register/
JFresh/TopDownHockey
JFresh and his partner TopDownHockey introduced their NHLe model this year. You will be familiar with the NHL player graphics they produce regularly. At $7/month the subscription is a no-brainer for any hockey fan. You can register here and support their work if you are interested: https://www.patreon.com/jfreshhockey

Gave this a bump to see where we had Heineman slotted as a prospect ranking prior to this season. Don't think he has moved up much since.
Vladar and Ruzicka (soon to graduate) are off the list now.
Kerins, Poirier, Sergeev, Boltmann likely have moved up into same tier.
Was roughly a 10-15th ranked prospect. I can handle that and a late 1st for 2 1/2 seasons of Toffoli at his friendly cap hit.

In Wheeler's recent rankings he had Heineman at #7, just behind Ruzicka, and just ahead of Kerins.

I think hes moved up. He's had a prettty good season in the SHL.
He's above Stromgren and Kuznetsov for sure.
But ya make that deal any day.

I think that's high personally.
Coronato, Pelletier, Zary, Wolf, Vladar and Mackey are givens.
That means Heineman slots ahead of everyone else. And these guys are debatable, IMO:
Stromgren
Kusnetsov
Sergeev
Kerins
Kinnvall
Poirier
Phillips
Gawdin
(let's call Ruzicka graduated)
I am not saying all of these guys should go ahead of Heineman, I am just saying they are all at least debatable. Heineman fits in with these guys somewhere. And I certainly wouldn't put him ahead of all of them.
