I’d get there 10-15 mins before customs opens if you are concerned.

Hey we are kind of getting another new runway. 17R/35L is going to be completely removed and rebuilt. I believe this was originally planned to have happened when the new parallel opened, but was delayed for reasons, probably financial I’m assuming.

Complete missed opportunity doing it when air traffic was basically nil for 2 years.

Missed opportunity is kind of the modus operandi of YYC

Huge missed opportunity, it could have been done with practically zero impact to operations. I remember they did some major work on the same runways a few years ago but don't recall exactly what it was. Perhaps it was a rebuild of the intersection of 11/30 and 17R/35L (??) as I distinctly recall the runway stayed open in a shortened length and the trans-Atlantic flights needed to tech stop in YEG on the eastbound flights to fuel up. A full rebuild will essentially turn YYC into a single runway operation unless they stage it somehow and do the intersection first so they can keep 11/30 open while the main work takes place.

Could make for some interesting cross-wind landings. Fun for plane-spotters; not so much for passengers and crew.

So now global entry passengers are funneled into the same line as regular folk AFTER securing and BEFORE customs. You can’t just walk up to the nexus kiosks like before.

Also I think in my last 10 flights home, 9 times we’ve waiting 20+ minutes for a ground crew.

I cAn NaMe WaY wOrSe AiRpOrTs!!

Ground crew is on the airlines, nothing the airport can do about that.

Not sure what you mean. I used nexus yesterday returning from the US, and it was the same as it has been for the last several years.

And if you mean departing, again no change as of 10 days ago when I left.

I left 6 days ago and they funnel you into the regular line first.

YYC is a joke, but we will never reach LAX levels of horror. It is unrivalled.

Also, if you use the cell phone lot, it’s in a different place starting Monday.

Where is the new cell phone lot, a quick look on the YYC website has no mention of it moving?

When you say the interchange is opening tomorrow does that mean construction is finished and construction zone speed limits are being removed?

When construction is finished in Calgary the construction road markings, barriers, pylons and signage must remain up for minimum one calendar year. It's the way.

I share this sentiment with the workers/companies as I love getting projects done but I never clean up after myself or put my tools away properly.

The two interchanges, Barlow/Airport Trail and 19 St/Airport Trail are one project to be done by the fall. The 19 St interchange is only half built.

Dropped my daughter off at YYC this morning. New interchange is indeed open but construction is nowhere near finished as Acey mentioned.

People were still using the old cell phone lot. I have no idea where the new one is nor is there any signage .
