If Kimberly is anything like Fernie at the moment I'd avoid it. Rain midway up white pass.
Supposed to get 20cms tonight though, so if the temps drop it might actually be ok. If the temps go above zero (again)......run.

Are you aware that the North Star lift isn't running any more this year?

Yes, I read about that when checking out the hill's web page. What a terrible thing.
Fairmont hill was great today. Softened up nicely by 1:30. With my 2 kids who had a blast. Base is in fine shape.

I want to take the plunge next year and look at a season pass. I usually do a 4 day trip to sunshine, and also another long weekend at panorama. Also do a couple of days at Louise and may go to interior for a weekend.
I think mountain collective is best deal, but when is the best time to buy. Their website says now, but I recall some of you got it for $589 cad.
1 adult and 3 kids under 12.
Any suggestions appreciated!

I got the CAD on par with USD special on Nov. 5, 2018 ($470 CAD back then).
Checking my promo emails, it looks like they ran a 'par' promotion in Oct 2019 and Sep 2020 (around $500CAD).
it looks like October 25, 2021 was a deadline for a $75 CAD off deal - the email quoted a price of $669 - not sure if that is before or after the $75 off.
April 2021 email price was $623 CAD.
So it might be worth waiting? Not sure if they have a price match guarantee...

thank you. They are running a "Guaranteed Lowest Price" special now, but it sounds like October is the time to make the purchase. Thanks!

I thought lake Louise was in good shape on Saturday. By mid afternoon, the snow around the lodge was getting closer to mashed potato territory.
Saw the ambulance there, so I am assuming somebody had a bad day.

I had first close call in years for a potentially serious crash today at Lake Louise. I was cruising down that little flat section from the end of the Blueberry run back to the Juniper chair and some guy almost ran into me from behind. I was on the very far left and just trying to keep up enough speed to make it to the end of the flat when I heard some carving behind me. I turned my head and I see this guy go sprawling onto his ass and his ski unclipped and somehow managed to fly forward and landed beside me. I have no idea what he was doing or why he was actually behind me because that flat section is really wide so he had lots of room to the right. If he didn't go down on his ass he certainly would have steam rolled me and it probably would have been ugly.

To those plugs that put their summers on before May long. Thank you.
No, not because I'm being facetious and will be camping, but got some spring pow, with more to come.
(For those strugglers; Summers are on May Long to Thanksgiving)

Yep, should be dece. When's the last time we've had a ski resort open in July, east of Whistler/Blackcomb, to the public?
'97, when Louise had GT's park & pipe on Jerry's?

As little as possible. Dress like you’re going boating and you’re fine.

Avoided the crowds and went today. Was much quieter than the pics I saw from Friday/Saturday. That was a fun, chill way to end the ski year.
