I have to laugh at some of these values being tossed around for Schneider.

He was traded for a 9th overall pick 4 years ago in his prime. His value certainly hasn't gone up since then, especially after an off year.

This draft is weaker but even still the 17th overall wouldn't be far off value wise, especially in what's going to be a saturated goalie market this off season.

They can ask for Bennett (lol) or more, but they aren't going to get that if they look to move him, and he will just remain a Devil then.

I mean geez, even when the goalie market wasn't wide open people didn't pay prices like that for good goalies.

A stressful summer coming up for Treliving, I would think. Last season was the disastrous 3-headed monster in goal, and this season the enigmatic Brian Elliott that has very likely cost us our playoff lives.

I wouldn't be shocked if this summer is Treliving's final opportunity to solidify that goaltending position. It's a results business, and we've been without a legitimate #1 for two seasons now.

I don't. I'm tired of rolling the dice on goaltenders. I want a proven commodity. Anything less, and Treliving should be shown the door.

Elliot was unreal for the 2nd half of the season and now after one bad game we're going to make big moves to get a goalie?

A 1st liner is a far more pressing need.

One bad game? He's sucked probably for 75% of the season, including 2 games in a row where it matters the most.

The Blues didn't think they could win with this guy (who let's go of a guy with his stats last year and a backups salary if they have any faith in him). Why should we have any faith.

Elliott is a garbage goaltender. Don't let the door hit him in the ass on the way out.

I'd trade a 1st round in 2017 and 2018 for Cory - he's a SOLID tender in this league

You should apply some of that logic to your crazy Gaudreau hate in the playoffs. Totally ridiculous in the game threads.

Fleury is a 'small' upgrade on Elliott. There is NO WAY the Flames look to try Fleury after how bad the Elliott experienced has ended.

I eagerly await all of the people jumping on the Elliot bandwagon if he has a good game tonight.

I'd rather have Elliot & Gillies on a cheap deal + the room to get a 1st liner to play with Gaudreau vs. Bishop (or someone) and still having that same big hole up front.

Elliott also costs the team a 3rd rounder to bring back

I bet the Stars or Jets give up the better pick if the Devils want a first rounder

The fact that the last 4 goalies that have come in here have been or almost have been run out of the league playing for us while having their numbers drop significantly tells me that the goalie is a small part of the problem. Team defence is more to blame. If we need a top 5 goalie just to be a first round out then there's more wrong. Teams have made it to the finals with worse goalies than Elliott. This is just masking the problem.

Elliot has had three iffy games. And a #1 goalie is far and away a more pressing need then a first line winger.

Far and away, it's not even close.

Last four goalies? Ramo, Hillier, Johnson, Elliott
Ramo - Was in the KHL for four season prior to signing here
Hillier - Was chased out of the net and passed by both Andersson and Gibson in Anaheim. Had a good bounce back year one in Calgary but year two was attrocious
Johnson - Career backup, 5th team in five years
Elliott - Best of the bunch, will find an NHL gig outside of Calgary no doubt

Do you even watch the goals he and Hiller are letting in? These are not because of the team (granted there has been some defence in that time). They are flat out whiffs, lack of rebound control, and a complete lack of ability to follow the puck and stay focused.

All these goalies that Calgary have been going through NEVER get picked up by another team, and usually find themselves out of the league. That's a pretty telling fact.

Totally disagree.

The gap between Elliot and someone like Bishop is non-existent compared to the gap between Ferland and a 1st line winger.

I wouldn't be surprised if Elliot blew the doors off of anyone we bring into replace him next year. How quickly we forget his numbers going back to 2012.

Pretty much sums it up...Elliott is decent at times, multiple teams have passed on making him #1

The expansion draft would be an ideal time to go " big game hunting" for a goalie.

Do it Treliving. Get a big time goalie.

Ramo, Hiller, Johnson, Elliot are fine goalies. But history will remember them the same as Tabaracci, Wregget, Kidd and Muzzatti. It's a parade of C+ goalies.

And yeah, you give up a first for Schnieder. 100 times out of 100.
