I don't think anyone could have predicted this trade. It's easily the most out there trade today. I get that he's a good role player in the bottom 6 but at a time when teams are reluctant to part with 1st round picks it looks like a really bad overpayment. Does this mean the Flames can still get a 1st round pick for Bennett lol?

Not any more. The deadline with crazy prices ended a few hours ago.

One way to look at it is essentially the Lightning drop edit:~60 spots on their 1st round pick for Goodrow.

Lightning's 1st would be ~ 25th OA to 31th OA

San Jose's 3rd ~ 62nd OA to 67th OA.

edit: yup Philly's 3rd so ~82 to ~89
