I think it is more playing politics, as usual for him

Three new Democratic senators-elect are set to be sworn into office Wednesday shortly after Biden's inauguration at the Capitol, which is under extreme security since the riot. The new senators' arrival will give the Democrats a slim majority, a 50-50 divided Senate chamber, with the new vice-president, Kamala Harris, swearing them in and serving as an eventual tie-breaking vote.
"Certainly November's elections did not hand any side a mandate for sweeping ideological change," McConnell said from the floor.
"Our marching orders from the American people are clear — we're to have a robust discussion and seek common ground," he said.

When do we get to see if he pardoned the Tiger King or anyone else noteworthy? I am sort of hoping he pardons himself, mostly to see the ensuing drama and see whether it can actually be done (and hold up, because I guess he could do whatever he wants).

If he's going to pardon himself, my guess is he announces that tomorrow morning, just so he can try to take some attention away from Joe's big day and make himself feel important while he sulks.

The list must be done, because now he must be watching his Fox shows.

How does granting a pardon actually work? Is there complex paper work handled by lawyers?
Right now I imagine Trump standing in a room shouting like Micheal Scott declaring bankruptcy.
“I declare myself a PARDON!”

It's probably closer to the latter.

Until the courts uphold the unknown napkin pardon, that is purely a speculative theory. Even if this happens, Trump and the person that they pardoned would need to prove it happened before he left office, which would require some sort of record that the unknown napkin wouldn't provide.

Oh please, please go ahead and fracture the right. Nothing would make me happier than to see Trump finally destroy the GOP from the inside out. It seems to already be happening anyways.

Instantly they'd lose Texas, and Florida.
Convict and bar Trump from running could save the GOP.

Doesn’t Bannon have to admit guilt first? And if pardoned, he can’t plead the Fifth in future proceedings?
