Timing is everything though. The fallout from the debate offered a realistic opportunity to replace him. Up until the debate, Biden as sitting president and winner of the primaries held all the cards and there was no realistic path to remove him.
If you are going to have a mutiny against your leader, you better make sure you have a good chance of actually removing him, otherwise you're just giving the election away.
Any chance to post from the Wire? You know I take that opportunity:

There would’ve been no reason to swap without mounting criticism.
Uh oh, look out Tim. The Trump brain trust has worked out how to counter the "Donald Trump is weird" message. So much for that strategy.
Spoiler!
Yup, that should do it.
The best indicator you are doing well politically is usually if the other side moves to counter your message. So I kinda like those signs, get all of them to keep telling everyone how weird he is not, it will just keep reminding us how weird he really is (also I don't see any defense of Vance mounted there, do they accept that he is in fact weird?)

Unbelievable. "I know you are, but what am I?" was right there, and they come up with this?
Worst decision since Trump decided on the "Space Force" when "Space Marines" was already geared up and itching to go.

In the ongoing attempt to help foment a coup, Musk is now calling Xitter links to NPR "spam".
Quote:
X, the Elon Musk-owned platform formerly known as Twitter, is marking some links to news organization NPR’s website as “unsafe” when users click through to read the latest story about an altercation between a Trump campaign staffer and an Arlington National Cemetery employee. The warning being displayed is typically applied to malicious links, like those containing malware, and other types of misleading content or spam. However, in this case, the web page being blocked is an NPR news report, raising questions about whether or not Musk’s X is actively trying to stop the news story from spreading.
On Thursday X users began to notice that a link to the NPR story about the Arlington Cemetery event, when clicked, would display the following message: “Warning: this link may be unsafe” followed by the URL of the web page in question.
Instead of being taken to the website, the warning encourages them to go “back to the previous page” by clicking the big blue button. To read the news story, users would have to click on the small text below that reads, “Ignore this warning and continue.”
It’s not immediately clear why NPR’s news site would have triggered this warning, nor why it would show up on specifically this story.
Basically the Trump campaign took video of recently killed American troop grave sites and used it in campaign materials. This is illegal. When a Army employee tried to stop them, Trump campaign officials shoved her out of the way.
They disparaged her as being mentally ill. She declined to press charges.
Ultimately the bigger picture IMO is that Xitter will be used as a proactive device to rile up as many MAGA supporters as possible in the wake of the election and up to the inauguration of Harris.
This is going to be a lot worse than Jan 6th due to Elon Musk.
What a POS

I mean, it won't. Because the leadership in charge (President) won't actually be preventing the National Guard or proper preparations for security like Trumps admin did.

The security comparison images are going to be staggering.

Would have worked great. He's orange, people would believe it.
They already tried both these methods by highlighting the perfectly normal things Tim Walz does and labelling it weird, coincidentally making them even weirder.
"Nuh uh" is the best they have now, even as their cult leader dives ever deeper into the Q-hole.

I hope in the future the Dems dont' even announce their candidate until 3 months before the election.
Beyond the obvious reasons I'll be voting for Harris in November is this: Maybe if she can win, with only a 3 month campaign, we can pull back from this 18 month campaign season thing, because I've gotta tell you, I'd really love to not be in perpetual pre-election mode.
It could just be that I live in one of the more vital swing states, but we're still over 2 months out and I am so, so tired of political ads.

Just too much money made from perpetual election cycles to see it change. Of course it'd be great, but like everything Murica there's too much money with the status quo to expect meaningful change.

That's the way Donald Trump thinks. He believes as Commander-In-Chief, the military is at his beck and call to do with as he pleases... even the dead soldiers.
That's why he wants to reorganize the military and put loyalists at the top.

I’ve seen a few Americans on Twitter point north and wish they had short campaigns like in Canada.

Oh it's unbearable. I've splurged on ad-free Hulu to avoid them there, but every time I open anything on Youtube I get political ads, any streaming service that has ads gives me political ads, I haven't had cable for a year but I'd imagine they're running nonstop there too. I'm sure it's not as bad if you're not in, you know, Pennsylvania, but you can definitely see the campaign dollars at work around here.
