I somehow have never seen To live and die in LA until last night. It’s 88% on Rotten tomatoes and is usually in the top 100 movies lists. Absolutely terrible. The writing is sloppy, the music is over the top 80s garbage and too loud in every scene, the characters are unrealized and ole Gil Grissom chews up scenery like Fat Albert at an all you can eat buffet. The only redeeming feature was Willem Defoe but he wasn’t in enough scenes to save this turd of a movie. Awful. Absolutely awful.

Longlegs is a hell of a movie and a massive financial success, budget was under $10m and that included print and advertising costs. so far it's made well over a $100m.
Big win for Cage as he was producer as well

Longlegs was fantastic.
I saw it get a wave of negative backlash after the first initial hype it was receiving, which was probably a disservice. To me, it was incredibly creepy and fun... but not necessarily scary.
Whereas Oddity and The First Omen were both legitimately scary, which is rare for me as I see every horror movie possible.

After rewatching Casablanca recently and with all the recent chatter about it I decided to watch the 90s remake with Pam Anderson. I gotta say Barb Wire is actually pretty fun, it's totally cheesy and the plot is identical to Casablanca but its really ambitious and a really cool cyber punk futuristic film. The story takes place at the Hammerhead bar during the 2nd American Civil War where the bar owner Barb Wire, has to decide to help a freedom fighter escape to Canada with her husband, using contact lenses that will allow anyone safe passage out of the States (sound familiar). Barb also happened to be in love with her husband before he left her. This movie was ahead of it's time yet also very of its time. There is even a joke in there about everyone wanting Canadian money instead of US dollars that Civil War used this year. If you're in the mood for a fun stylistic sci Fi film give this one a go, it's a hidden gem desperately deserving of a reappraisal.

On Rotten Tomatoes the audience rating is always closer to the truth than the critic rating.
Still shows 79 on audience rating, but I always just look at audience rating.

Os Perkins knocked Longlegs out of the park. All filmed and finished in Vancouver. Perkins loves it here and they are already working on the next two films. The Monkey is in post now.

If y'all liked Long Legs, I'd suggest watching The Blackcoats Daughter, he wrote and directed it too and is just as good in my opinion.

Currently watching the 2007 remake of 3:10 to Yuma for probably the 20th time but the first time in several years. Forgot how good this movie is. Ben Foster should have won the Oscar for supporting actor...until you look at the absolutely insane nominees that year. If you like Westerns and you haven't seen it I highly recommend it.

How has nobody else seen Strange Darling yet? I'm looking forward to reading everyone else's thoughts on that one. I've heard many reviewers agree with my sentiments of it being a modern classic. Way better than Longlegs.

I saw Strange Darling opening weekend, it's really great! It's best to go in blind but I found myself enjoying the film more and more as it went on until the end. A movie like this would have made bank at the box office 20 years ago. I think I enjoyed Longlegs more but this is absolutely worth a watch as well.

Yeah I just watched it last night. Fantastic movie and Pierre is a bad ass and perfect in that role. Hope to see more of him for sure. And Don Johnson is old as dirt now but he can still act.
I looked up the director after I watched it, Jeremy Saulnier, and I saw that he directed Green Room another awesome and tense movie. So I decided to see what else he has directed and I ended up watching Blue Ruin I believe it was his film directorial debut, a low budget indie flick with no star actors but it was very good and what you would expect if you enjoyed his other films.

ALL ABOARD!

I watched 2 movies last night and neither were worth the time.
Trap had an interesting premise but the writing and performances were terrible. I was also waiting for a MNS twist that never happened.
Borderlands was just not good. I've only briefly played the game so maybe I was missing something but whatever it was was wasted on me.

Watched the movie Oddity last night. Scariest movie I’ve watched in a while. Super creepy atmosphere, great twists, and some very effective jump scares. It takes a lot to freak me out these days when it comes to horror flicks, but this one definitely made my skin crawl. Excellent film.

I saw Strange Darling in theatres. I was hoping it was going to be more scary but it is just a thriller.
Its told in 6 different parts but not in chronological order and overall it was very enjoyable. I'd give it a 3.5/5 and recommend it to anyone that enjoys a high intensity edge of your seat rated R movie.
