On the bright side France now have twice as many World Cups as England!
They pretty much were the best team in the tournament, if anything I think only the Belgians could have really gone toe-to-toe with the French despite that game being somewhat underwhelming.
In the World Cup with 48 teams France should be forced to field: 'Actual France' and 'Colonial France.'
I think I know which team would be better....

I’ll sound bias here but so could’ve Brazil. Brazil created more chances vs Belgium and Belgium created more chances vs France. That’s football and that’s the World Cup. France found ways to win their games and defended extremely well.

What qualifies as colonial france. We should set those teams.

Brazil....I have to say the thing that really seemed off to me about Brazil was that despite all of the glowing remarks about their coaching I found them very tactically naive.
Pretty much what I expected from France was a technically talented but tactically naive team (Giroud, etc.) and that coaching and tactical decisions would be their downfall, but they persevered through and thats pretty much the opposite of Brazil.
Brazil had the talent but they seemed obsessed with driving everything through Neymar which was really naive and the better teams knew how to counter it and then Brazil had no backup plan. No formation change, they had great players to bring on but there was no Plan B.
Why on earth cant a team like Brazil allow some of the rest of their talent to do some of the heavy lifting instead of leaning on Neymar the whole time? Thats ridiculous to me and a flawed strategy to stifle creativity and talent everywhere just to appease Neymar.

I agree that they should’ve realized Neymar was not in form and looked to be forcing it all tournament. They also had a coach who would not change his lineup and would not bring in other options for midfield. Using Paulinho and Fernandinho vs Belgium was very very naive. Basically losing Casemiro for that game should’ve forced a new lineup but Tite did not change it and it cost them. Hopefully Arthur will replace Paulinho in the future and Brazil will begin to usher in younger talent and stop playing a midfield with 2 players who offer little going forward. Brazil need to get back to being Brazil and use an attacking lineup, watching them play pragmatically and scared to push bodies forward was a sign they had not gotten over the 7-1 defeat. Brazil not starting Firmino was also very very dumb. I still have hope Brazil will bring that magic back to international football. They have not had it since probably 2006.
I think Brazil will be much better next World Cup and so will a lot of the bigger teams.
