Not surprising. What happens next will be the interesting bit especially with Mark Hunter.

Good move. He's put his time in. And Lou will still be around in an advisory role.

If Hunter goes that will be too bad but the Leafs had to choose one.

#### I hate seeing guys younger than me (not by much) get into positions like this. Makes me feel like a chump and done nothing with my life. Oh well. Good for him. They are building a contender over there and he has been a big part of it.

Ken King and Burke Out
Treliving replaces King (business background with his dad and works on a new arena)
Hunter new GM
Maloney and Conroy Assistant GMs

I would be okay with that

Is Dubas going to want to bring in his own coach or is Babcock safe?

I'm sure he has another couple years of falling on his face in playoffs before his seat gets warm.

Haha the meeting between them would be hilarious.

Dubas: Coach, I'd like to talk about your plans and your future here.

Babcock: Ok, good meeting. See you in June 2019.

Now we wait to see if Hunter is at the press conference with Shanny and Dubas.

Maybe I'm old school, but I just don't think these young GM's are a great idea.

Considering Dubas was likely one of the voices calling for Babcock to be hired, he probably already has his coach.

Technically Babcock is Dubas' hire. Dubas was interim GM as of April 2015 when Nonis was fired. Babcock got hired in May and Lou was hired in July.

Of course, the truth is that Babcock is Shanahan's man.

The notion that there's any chance Babcock could be fired is errant nonsense generated by idiots and opportunistic media shock jocks trying to get attention. I would bet my house on that.
