Default Your Best Recipes!

Though a bit late post covid and all, I thought I’d get a thread started on what you personally do really well, and to post the recipe.

I do wings really well and will post soon enough but post away in the mean time.

This recipe might label me as a heathen, but I can this one, Spirit steak.

Take your Alberta beef, 3 things in this order (no need to marinate):

- your choice in spirit (rum, whiskey, bourbon) pour to slightly wet both sides of meat
- salt (enough that the syrup taste is slight sweet, not sugary)
- syrup/sugar (usually maple syrup)

The order is important or you'll wash off an ingredient or block an ingredient.

Spirit imparts a slight "spice/seasoning".
Salt and sugar combo was inspired by kettle corn and the sugar helps create a crust.
