I doubt Rooney and Gilbert have any trade value, except possibly as throw-ins. Besides, the Flames and Wranglers each need to ice a roster for the rest of the season.

Same. I think Conroy has a good eye for talent and knows asset values. If the deal ends up underwhelming, I'll give him the benefit of doubt and assume it was the best of a bunch of underwhelming offers.

Hanifin himself has asked to go to market and has expressed he wants to be playing in the US, as he alluded to whe. Johnny and Matt left. He’s not resigning and he’s definitely closed the chapter on his Flames career.

I've seen scenarios where a player was traded and he remained on the team charter after the trade. At least twice for sure I know that's happened so it's up to the individual teams and players, whatever they're comfortable with, etc.
