Hi Keith, when you were here you recommended a different type of furnace filter than the standard 3M Filtrete because they make the furnace work too hard. Can you give that brand name again?

I stopped off at Rona earlier but all they seem to have are the 3M filters (of varying levels).

Bump. Keith came and did an assessment for us and we'll be using him to do a cleaning this summer and for any future needs. Knowledgeable, experienced, detail-oriented, friendly and trustworthy. Don't see why you'd go anywhere else.

Hey Keith,
My home is currently under construction and the builder is using the furnace to heat the home(which I know is commonplace). I read up on the manual about what is supposed to happen when a furnace is used during construction. No jumpering(tstat installed), constant filter changing, thorough cleaning, etc). It is looking quite filthy at the moment as the top panel is left off. I even looked into the whole process for cleaning the combustion chamber, it is quite involved. The reason I'm concerned is this happened at my last place, and eventually I had to replace a board and a igniter. Warranty only good for 5 years, so that didnt help me. Any advice you can give? What would you normally charge for a thorough cleaning of a furnace cabinet? They will clean the ducts, but that isn't my big concern, as I'm more concerned about the furnace itself. Dust likes to stick to machining oil, which can be found on the blower. I am going to approach the builder as it is straight-up against manufacturer's instructions as no parameters are followed beside putting screens on most supply registers(none on returns).

Tell the builder to hire Keith for the cleaning - anyone else is a waste of time.

Default Thumbs up to Keith

Keith has always cleaned my furnaces, he's done a great job every time, think I've used him for about 4 years straight now! I think I need the house done again, I will get in touch with Keith right away.

Canadian tire sells rolps of fiberglass media to be cut to size and pre cut Lennox sized stuff,
DON'T buy the 3M filterte as they are too thick and air restrictive as well as they have horrible litrrature which states good for 90 days.

All filters require monthly maintenance

Sorry Keith I was away on holidays and getting back in the swing of things. I removed the furnace filter like you suggested and it still does the same thing. Could I give you a call to discuss this with your later tonight?
