Health of our players entering training camp
Thought we could have a central thread for injury updates for our players..
- I assume Poirier is not going to be around for training camp, and I heard rumors about October/November before a return?
- Janko & Gillies didn't play in rookie camp due to minor injuries, are they good to go now?
- Hiller, is he back 100%?
- Baertschi had shoulder issues and some of us were concerned he didn't have a chance to beef up for the season, is he back 100%?
Anyone else I'm missing not 100% ?

Sven is good right now, I've seen him practice a lot lately and talked to him he looks good out there. Hiller is apparently 100%

Are they even allowed to attend camp without paying their own way?

We won't see Jankowski or Gillies at the Flames camp, but it's good to know if they'll be ready for the camp at Providence.
They both had minor injuries at the rookie camp so I'm assuming both are ready to go for the start of the Friar's season.

If the dev camp had been a week or two later, you would've likely seen both Janko and Gillies participate.
The only guy that is injured is Poirier as far as I know.

I actually got paired up with Sven and Sieloff golfing the Hamptons on Friday and both of them said they are feeling great. Pretty excited about the camp this year. What about Klimchuk...is he good to go??

I believe he had the surgery before the end of the regular season. Previously they stated he would be ready to go before training camp.
The flames also stated that Poirier wouldn't be ready to start the season, as he had his surgery after the Heat were eliminated from the Playoffs.

I think Poirier would have had a legit chance of making the NHL if he had been healthy. Too bad.

Poirier played really well in the AHL playoffs especially considering he had an injured shoulder. Definitely showed he was hungry for next season.
I have a feeling he'll join Adirondack in November and earn the first forward call-up within a month or two. Regardless of who goes down at what position, we have enough versatility in our line-up to shuffle players around. Chances are we'd be lacking at RW anyways once injuries crop up.

Yeah, I hope wotherspoon is ready. I'd like to see him win a spot. That goes for Granlund too who I also think had shoulder surgery.

Last I heard Poirier was well ahead of schedule.
Everyone else is said to be at 100%. Ollas Mattsson is the only player I've heard is still injured, and he's in Sweden.

I'm curious as to your source. Can you backup any and all accounts of all previously injured Flames now at 100%?

Freeway works in sports media so he's almost completely reliable with his info. I would just take it on faith that his sources are credible.

I know you're not a doctor, but any idea on how far ahead of schedule? Opening night?

No idea. "Ahead of schedule" is what was repeated around development camp.

Original date was November sometime I think, so it could be opening night. Either way, I doubt he gets a training camp in so starting in the bigs isn't likely I'd guess
Edit: Not sure wtf peeking has to do with opening
