The bench really lacks that steady scoring and rebounding. FVV out doesn't help either, but to me this was still a totally unnecessary trade that hasn't improved this roster.
Agreed. It's almost as if Masai missed out on all the other guys so he felt he had to do something. JV was really settling into his role this year too.

The problem with JV is the playoffs though. Having a big man you literally can't play in end of game situations because his defense isn't good enough is very problematic. And of course we all know rotations shorten in the playoffs, so the "bench" will essentially be three guys at most playing with starters. The Gasol trade wasn't for the regular season, it was for playing Milwaukee when you'll badly need a defensive center to cope with their lineup possibilities. JV would get smoked in that series and basically be unplayable.

Ok, I think the Raptors need to send a tape to the NBA about Tony Brothers. Every Raptors game he officiates he clearly calls the game against them. I know I complaining sometimes about NHL officiating but that is total league issue. This guy clearly has an issue with Toronto that is really blatant .

NBA reffing isn't legitimate. Simple as that, unfortunately. But also completely incompetent on top of not being legit.

No excuse for Ibaka there, but this is what terrible reffing leads to. Frustration boils over.

On the bright side the 10-15 game suspension Ibaka is about to get should allow Gasol some time to better fit in.

I wonder what we'd be saying if that punch actually landed, that was some furious anger right there.

The LeBron/Lakers drama show and the Giannis love have certainly taken away from Harden's ridiculous year. Should probably be unanimous MVP.

I don't get how the media fawns over LeBron. The guy is a snake and a poisonous teammate. How the media doesn't criticize him more, I'll never understand. Crazy athlete, but such a selfish teammate. He's like teflon with the media.

The only real reason to feel like things might be different this year is Kawhi, but otherwise this team really offers no reason to believe in them. Getting out of the first round won't be easy if they draw the Pistons or Nets.

Yeah, it's far from a sure thing the Raps even make it out of round 1.

I doubt they'll make it past round 1. I'm surprised Drake has been so absent this season. I get that most on here hate him and want to think he doesn't matter, but the fact is he does matter in the NBA world and I figured he'd be there a lot with Khwai playing one season here on a contract year and slight chance to sign a true star to a long term to a contract, to help sell Toronto. And if nothing else to watch probably the best Raptors team in history.

He's been more absent then I've ever seen.

Drakes been on tour for a large part of the season. His euro tour wraps up at the end of April so he should be around for the playoffs.

Surprised nothing has been posted about Magic stepping down. Pretty big 180 for Magic Johnson after only two years as President of the Lakers. He quit without even telling anyone in the organization beforehand! Just nuts. I think Magic didn't realize that this would actually be a job that was stressful and a lot of work, and he couldn't just be the lovable icon anymore.

It also seems like Jeanie Buss has literally zero idea what she is doing. Everyone is pointing fingers at the other person. There was also a concerted effort to make Walton the scapegoat.
