Is there a good reason that there is no hitting in women's hockey that doesn't originate from the 60s?

This was discussed on here last week. They tried allowing it in the 90s but that just gave Canada and the US an even bigger advantage over the field.

Someone mentioned in an earlier thread that the Europeans used to hit and Canada/US didn't . But then they ran the Europeans over and they took it out.

Nurse with a dumb penalty. No discipline. Runs in the family.

Update on Del Bosco:

During yesterday’s men’s final ski cross race, Chris Del Bosco crashed in the 1/8 final heat. After a full assessment by Canadian Olympic Committee’s doctors, it is confirmed that Del Bosco has four rib fractures, a pulmonary contusion, and a stable pelvis fracture. He is in the hospital, in stable condition and continues to be monitored. Get well soon Del. Canada is cheering for you and can’t wait to see you back!
