Rhett Warrener was talking about this last week, and said the team expended too much energy playing unnecessary, extra games v. SJ when they held a 2-0 series lead after starting on the road. He thinks they should have closed the WCF out in four or five games, and that made the biggest difference in the end.

The Flyers, Canucks, and Coyotes picked the wrong time to have a bad weekend, all 3 teams lost both of their games on Sat. and Sun.

The Flyers did their best against the Capitals, but, Holtby was excellent in net for the Caps as he stopped 35 shots including 20 in the 2nd period. The loss puts the Flyers 8 points back of the 8th place Habs. Ovechkin had an assist. The Capitals still haven't clinched a playoff spot and their magic number is 2.5 to clinch.

The Habs-Hurricanes was a good one especially in the 1st period, the shots were 21-13 for Carolina. The Habs relied on Price heavily and he got them a point. Carolina kept coming in a series of hurricane bands and finally van Riemsdyk scored with under 6 minutes left in reg time to tie the game. Svechnikov gets the GWG in OT. The Hurricanes are now in 7th place, 5 points up on the 9th place BJs.

The BJs hammered the fatigued Canucks, The Flames wore out the Canucks the previous night and it showed as Columbus was faster as the game went on. Josh Anderson had 2g, 1a and Bobrovsky gets the 21 save SHUTOUT to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Coyotes gave it all they had no offence to show for it. Lehner gets the 31 save SHUTOUT. Arizona remains 2 points back of the Avs for the final playoff spot.

The Avs and Bhawks was one sided in the shots, 42-20 for Chicago. Grubauer was the reason the Avs got a point as he stopped 40 shots. Both teams scored on the PP and Keith gets the GWG in OT. Colorado wins the weekend series on points 3-2 and has a 5 point lead on the Bhawks for the last playoff spot.
