For the first time all day Nick Taylor follows up a birdie by hitting the next green in regulation.

He's back to even par for the day and T-6. One par 5 left.

Tough stretch for Taylor. Bogeys the par 3 and then pulls his drive on the 16th. Hits his 2nd in the water and struggles for a double bogey. Drops back to 18th place.

The only positive is that Hughes birdied 18 and the field is struggling down the stretch. Hughes into 13th place.

I shudder at the thought of this course hosting a US Open.

Missing a fairway or green at this course resulted in consequences on the scorecard.

The tee shot on 16 is evil.

Brooke puts up 6 birdies, no bogeys and climbs 7 spots. Finished T-8 for another top 10.

Rory missed a short putt for par on 10 and is 3 down now. Not putting for dough today.

Brooke cards 3 double bogeys in her second round. Uncharacteristically misses the cut. She started with a strong round 1. Tough to see.

2 Canadians in the top 20 so far at the "other" PGA Tour event which is in the Dominican Republic this week. Need to go low today to climb the leaderboard into the top 10. Silverman, for example, is 1 under through 3 and is down two spots to the field.

David Hearn also made the cut. He's -3 on the day and climbed 21 spots at the back end of the field.

Tiger has sort of fallen apart the last few holes and looks like it'll be all-square heading to 17.

Edit: Or Rory with a terrible approach to 16. Both guys struggling coming in.

Double edit: LOL what a catastrophe for Rory. Losing this hole straight up after their tee shot positions is embarrassing.

That was the worse shot I've ever seen. He now has chosen to go back and hit it again.

Van de Velde is wondering what the #### Rory is doing here. Never quite seen a choke like that, he was in the middle of the fairway on a par 5 and if it were stroke play he'd be looking at at least 10. Insanity.

See how the fans let Rory's ball go through them to end up at the wall. Guaranteed someone would have tried to stop that ball if it was Tiger's. Home field advantage.

This is car crash golf right now, Tiger barely avoids the hazard.

If Chris Stroud comes to play the Canadian Open I sincerely hope that there is some sort of media event with Canadian Survivorman legend Les Stroud.

If you're interested in the pga record books Graeme McDowell is 3 holes away from tying a record for fewest putts in 18 holes, namely 18 putts. I just turned it on, on the golf channel

Great day for the Canadians.

Hughes cards 7 birdies in a 6 under round to jump up into a tie for 5. I would expect a couple to pass him down the stretch but he should be in contention as the leaders deal with light rain as they finish.

Silverman is stuck on 3 under, with one to play. That will keep him around 10th to 12th going into tomorrow. On this course look out for Silverman. When he gets hot he can go real, real low. Consistency has been an issue for him, but he can catch fire for one round. Let's hope It is tomorrow.

And finally David Hearn finishes really strong on his last 9 holes (being the front nine as he started on 10) finishing 4 under for his last 6 holes. He's jumped up into a tie for 18. That is up over 30 spots against the field. Good for him.

On the Champions Tour Ames is T-21 which is a bit of a surprise to me. This isn't a tourney where it turns into a putting contest. I would think it would fit a ball striker like Ames quite well

McDowell 2 putts 16, 17, and 18. He misses one putting each by about 2 inches.

15 one putts in a row to start his day.

MacKenzie Hughes is on fire today. He's raced up the leaderboard and is in 2nd place behind Graeme McDowell. 4 holes left.

Hearn up one spot to T-17. Silverman drops back into 17th as well.

Hughes ties for the lead with a long birdie on 15! That was critical as 16-18 have only had a small smattering of birdies all day.
