Calgary's Most Expensive Home In History!!!
Just listed 10 days ago is this 12 million dollar home in Aspen.
I always thought that the buyer or builder ran into financial troubles as the build appears stalled. There was actually over 100k worth of stone just sitting out front for the longest time.
Looks like they got around to finishing it and there is someone living at the property.

Just like the ad says, this is a once in a life time opportunity so call me asap for your showing lol!
For those who care, the second most expensive was Mike Vernons place in Elbow Park backing onto the river. I think it went in the 10 mill range.

Off topic, but I'll never understand those who choose to use HDR photos in their listings, gives the home a real "Nightmare before Christmas" look that I just don't think suits the context of "come live here"

Are you the only listing realtor? If so, you're going to make an unreal commission on that if/when you sell.

What type of floor covering is on the two spiral staircases? Is that carpet? The pattern looks terrible on the curve.
For 12,000,000 I don't want to have to renovate when I move in

It makes it look like Wayne Manor, and Batman is one of the few people who could afford it.
Damn.

I would put in an offer, but the house number just doesn't work for us Asian people...

Don't worry guys and gals. The paper work should be done soon, and once I'm moved in we can have one hell of a party!

If you compare the bells and whistles that house has to a ~$4,000,000 home, it's a stupid way to blow millions.
I know there's more to housing prices than movie theatres and swimming pools, but for $12 mil I'd be looking for a hell of a lot more.

^^ it's never been pt on the market and if it were I doubt he could list anywhere near that.
The staff that guy has hired in pump hill is incredible just for day to day functions.

With 91-rooms, I would think you would need a full-time staff to keep it clean. That's just ridiculous. If I had that much money, I would buy vacation homes throughout the world as opposed to dumping all the money into one home that, like you said, would never sell for what it's worth.
