One of the best character actors ever. I liked him in pretty much everything he was in.
One of my favorite moments with him was when he randomly showed up in the Super Fans sketch on SNL just to help set the record for most fat guys in a single sketch. (along with Farley, John Goodman, and George Wendt). It was hilarious. Wish i could find the video.
He actually wasn't a Vietnam vet. I think he apologised long ago for putting that story out there.
He fought his own private war against tyranny in Albuquerque, under the pale moon of an apricot yellow sun. No one but no one denigrates the titanic contributions of Lord Dennehy.
First movie of his that I ever saw was Best Seller with James Woods. Pretty much made me fans of both of them, ever since.

the sign of a great character actor is I really don't immediately associate him with any one role- First blood I guess? but he was just everywhere
geez on wikipedia looking at his TV appearances- look at the shows he was on: Kojak, Serpico, Lou Grant, MASH, Dallas, Dynasty, Cagney and Lacey, Miami Vice, West Wing, Law and Orderm 30 Rock etc etc etc
First memory of him for sure is First Blood but I always go back to the Cocoon movies. He's been in so many productions and was first class in all of them.
He's one of my favorite actors. So happy he was in Blacklist.
This is one actor i would have loved to have had a beer or scotch with. I'm sure some very good conversation would have resulted...
