Default Don Imus dead at age 79

I wasn't much of a fan but there is no doubt he was huge in the business for a long time.

Howard Stern will no doubt be talking about this as they had a bit of a rivalry.

That’s the biggest reason I know his name. It’ll be interesting to hear what Howard says since he’s become the things he blasted Imus for.

I think most people know him because of his racist rant that got him kicked off the air, but I don’t think he was a completely terrible person. He created a ranch for kids with cancer, for example.

Wasn't much of a racist rant, said "nappy headed hos" as part of his comedy show while riffing, not like it was a chapter in his book or a speech he prepared.

Stern is far worse than he ever made Imus out to be, at least Imus had balls towards the end of his career. Stern is so out of touch and soft now, half of the time I don't even know why I still listen to him.

Stern has become soft because he's been getting tight with the Hollywood crowd. If you notice he gets much more AAA celebrities compared to what he used to get when he was bringing in porn starts and freaks every week. On one hand he's still the best interviewer out there and does a fantastic job getting celebrities to open up but on the other hand when he's not interviewing celebrities the rest of his show has become boring as Brent Hatley and his swinger life was funny for a couple of weeks before it got old.

He said it on his radio show.

He also called them jiggaboos.

it was not a great moment. I also don't think it should define his career. But don't treat it like it was nothing.

On April 4, 2007, during a discussion about the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship on his radio show, Imus characterized the Rutgers University women's basketball team as "rough girls," and "nappy-headed hos." His executive producer also referred to the women athletes as "hardcore hos" and commented that the two teams looked like the "jigaboos versus the wannabes."
