Looking forward to watching this series. I was a huge fan of the old radio show with Nigel Bruce and Basil Rathbone when I was a kid (used to rent them from the public library) and even The Return of Sherlock Holmes from the 80s.

Overall, pretty pleased with this new one. Sucks to have to wait so long for season 4 though.
Dude....if you're just starting Sherlock then you are in for the best marathon of shows of your life.

Grab your favourite snack and drinks and get stuck in man because its going to be awesome.

Just a reminder that the Sherlock holiday special, The Abominable Bride is on PBS tonight.

It's a period piece set in the Victorian era, so I don't know how it will fit into the continuity of the rest of the series.

Super excited! Will be heading out to watch at the theater soon and will post my thoughts when I get home.

The only problem is it has been so long since the last season I can barely remember what happened. Damn you Peter Jackson for stealing the leads to work on your stupid Hobbit movies.

Its a standalone Christmas Special so no worries there really.

Um...at the theatre? What voodoo is this of which you speak?

They are showing it at movie theaters around the world. Aussies are lucky enough to get it today but it looks like Canadians have to wait until Monday .

Almost couldn't find it since it isn't listed on the PVR guide under "Sherlock" but rather under "Masterpiece."

Well that was awesome! It was definitely worth seeing on the big screen as the showing included an introduction by Steven Moffat and concluded with a making of.

It was very clever how they took the same show and moved it to a different time. I also found the Victorian versions of the characters hilarious including the appropriate sexism and xenophobia.

I would like to discuss the twists but will wait until more posters have seen the special. Until then will just leave a very minor spoiler.

Spoiler!

Also, the Victorian setting and Moffat connection is making me curious what a Sherlock/Doctor Who crossover episode would be like.

They could call it Sherlock v. the Doctor: Dawn of Justice

How many episodes is this season going to be? It's not another one-off episode like last year, is it?

Series is getting progressively worse. Remember those original episodes and how captivating they were?

I enjoyed it, but part of that may have been the anticipation.

At the same time, they're building up to something and its hard to do that without some bumps especially as they've used up most of the classic Holmes literature.

They're wandering into uncharted territory while having to be faithful to their characters.
