Jailbreaking an Ipod Touch

Apologies for making another jailbreaking thread, but I have a few questions about it.

I'm thinking of getting a new 4g ipod touch, and wondering whether i should jailbreak it or not. Are there any risks/downsides to jailbreaking it? Since it's a new generation of ipod touch, is it alright to do it even though it just came out? Or is it a risky affair since it was just released?

Well to start, the new Touches cannot be jailbroken yet. Soon, but not yet (if that has any impact on your decision to purchase now).

Personally, I jailbreak all my iDevices to add some tweaks. I find the Cydia apps are some of the best apps for the phone. The only downside is a minimal battery impact, and i stress minimal (some apps drain, but those aren't the good ones!)

I've never jailbroken without some kind of incident. Once I killed my battery, once my contact pictures all changed, once my media went all screwy and I couldn't view or listen to anything in a browser that wasn't a YouTube video. All times the device got more crash-prone. I found no app besides mywi that was worth the trouble.

I would say I'm in the minority as I've never talked to anybody with my level of problems.
