With the OOT results from 3/13... The Oil's playoff chances drop from 5% to 1.8%, the 'Hawks' rise from 4.7% to 5.44% per moneypuck com

I can see blowing it down, and maybe even believing there's a penalty based on speed of the incident and the outcome. But kicking a guy out and handing out a major should require actual hard conclusions. You need to see the clear infraction.

Not sure why Rousell held his head when it looked like his main injury would have been his lower body. His legs went wonky.

Yeah, he hurt his knee. Green says he's done for the rest of the season.

I think Rousell was just in pain and reacted. He took a blow to the head, bent his leg backward and wasn't really thinking straight.

It wasn't a major. It was barely a penalty, if at all.

Krieder earned his. Don't think what he did was intentional, I think he thought he'd drive his elbow into Pettersson's stomach or chest. But he swung around recklessly and caught him right in the nose. He should know better.

Conspiracy!!

Here's hoping for another game like his last two though. Also the offensive output in front of him.

To give you a small idea: I was at the game, when they were ushering Lemieux to the box after the goal, it looked like the referee was motioning that he had crosschecked him. They called it headbutting, they announced it as something else and it was clearly an elbow if anything. All the referee saw was the two players come together and then end result of the play. I would guess they assumed Lemieux initiated contact and because there was an injury on the play, upgraded whatever they were going to call to a major.

It's a blown call 100%.

Does he take that slap shot off the top of his helmet?

When even Garrett was saying it's not a major, not even a penalty, the refs made a biiiiiig mistake

Thankfully no. Motte beat Lundqvist clean.

Always a good thing to see NHL officials go under the microscope. There's been a CFL vibe to NHL officiating the past few seasons as it's getting worse not better.

Did the officials not discuss the incident? In recent years it seems more common for the refs to huddle and discuss a call before rendering a final verdict. It’s hard to believe the call was allowed to stand.
