I'm so glad I wasn't the only one to come into this thread to post Goldeneye.

That movie and N64 game were my childhood. I rewatched all the Bond movies a few years ago and this one still holds up, as campy as the Brosnan films were.

The beginning of Two Towers was one of my favorite moments in the whole trilogy; to relive the balrog movie from the previous movie, but then follow gandalf when he fell.

Always loved the opening scenes from this flick. Still funny as hell.

Can't get video to work for some reason, but the opening of X-Men Origins is pretty good.

Classic opening credits. So 70s. And Caine puts on an acting clinic in a few short clips with no dialogue.

Boogie Nights b/c it's a pretty cool 3 minute continuous camera shot.

I enjoyed this opening. Definitely not GoaT or anything, but enjoyable.

Love tracking scenes to open movies, and Boogie Nights is a great one. Touch of Evil might have it beat, at 3:30. Incredible suspense with the bomb in the car.

This is one of my all-time favourite movies. It's not the full opening scene but still funny!:

And it's a TV show, but the opening scene of Game of Thornes is film quality:

Someone find the opening sequence of Serenity. That was bonkers. It's a voiceover narration that turns out to be a classroom that turns out to be a dream sequence that turns out to be a recording being watched by the antagonist years later. Who the hell does that? Joss Whedon the hell does that.

There are so many opening scenes that are favorites of mine. So many to list. I love those scenes which foretell what you're about to see.

For example, Memento's opening scene is awesome, with the disappearing image on the polaroid and the scene running in reverse.

Here is the opening scene to Aguirre, the Wrath of God. This scene foretells the epic nature of the film, and the doom that will come.
