The view from Corn Chips wasn't too bad. Pretty sure the Black Olives take it this year.

Chicken wings. So easy, too:

Pack of wings, line them on tray, bake for 1 hour at 400. You could deep fry them too, but that's too much work without a deep frier.

1/2 cup butter, 2 cups hot sauce pinch of cayenne - melt in sauce pot.

When wings are cooked, smother in hot sauce.

Throw back in oven to crisp up for a few minutes.

Sprinkle with parmesan. Serve with blue cheese dressing . . . or ranch dressing if you're an uncultured philistine.

Get laid by friend you're trying to impress.

Roasted red peppers, so easy as well:

Buy eight red bell peppers.

BBQ them until they are charred on all sides. Takes about 15 minutes.

Peel black stuff off after letting them cool for a few minutes. Try not to lose the juices that spill everywhere. Try to keep the seeds, too. Throw black stuff away. Slice peppers into strips.

Crush and chop about 8 cloves of garlic.

Combine garlic, peppers, splash of olive oil (use good stuff or skip it) and a dash of salt.

Serve with crackers or something.

Easy.

Man, I'm spilling all my bachelor recipes I've picked up over the years . . .

Tabbouleh. One of the few salads that are edible.

Buy a #### load of parsley, some mint, some couscous (I've tried it with quinoa, but it's not the same) a cucumber, tomato, some garlic and a lemon. Maybe some pita.

Chop up all the veggies/herbs.

Boil couscous for a few minutes or whoever long it takes. Add that.

Splash with all the juice from the lemon, add bit of salt. Serve in mini pita breads.

Bacon wrapped sausages. Ridiculously easy. You can bacon-wrap anything, really.

Cut sausages in thirds. Cut bacon in thirds. Get lots of toothpicks.

Mix 3 parts dijon mustard with 1 part honey.

Dip sausages in mustard mix, wrap in bacon slice, skewer. Bake at 375-400 for 20ish minutes (til they're done. You want the bacon to be crispy and the sausage cooked.) Don't burn the bacon or you loose 50 cool points.

Any twit can buy a veggie tray and lay out a couple of bowls of chips! I'd like to do something a little cooler! I've got almost all afternoon. What are some cool snack/serving ideas you've done or seen?
Haagen-Dazs: vanilla caramel latte
(make sure its partly melted)
if you have fresh raspberries, use them.

1) Bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese (sun dried tomatoes, cilantro, and garlic).
2) Grilled cajun spiced shrimp/prawns wrapped in prosciutto.
3) Bacon weaves for everyone!
4) Mushroom dumplings called ushkas (from Crakovia Deli).
5) BBQ'd lamb chops (cut from a rack of lamb so the bones are long enough that you don't need a fork and knife to eat them).
6) Button (or Crimini) mushrooms stuffed with (cooked) italian sausage, prosciutto, breadcrumbs, seasoning, and covered with mozzerella and baked in the oven.

That's definitely a fire hazard.

There is a nice simple version you can make with very little effort. All you need is:

500 ml sour cream
1 package taco seasoning. (The stuff you would use for beef when making tacos.)
1 jar of salsa
1 package of shredded cheese. (Assuming you are too lazy to grate it yourself.)

Stir the taco seasoning into the sour cream. Let it sit 5 minutes and then stir again. Letting it sit allows any of the dry stuff to get absorbed into the sour cream.

Use that mixture as your bottom layer. Second layer is the salsa. Top layer is the cheese.

The alternative of that is to use cream cheese instead of sour cream.
