Remember in the Gulutzan days when we used to debate what impact a coach actually has on professional athletes?

Has Sutter hypnotized the players?

They added some key depth pieces too

Vlader
Gudbranson
Zadorov
Lewis
Richardson
Coleman

All are adding value and changed the culture

I also would add Muller

The Flames now have the best goal differential in the NHL with a +27. Seven shutouts in 19 games played. That is unbelievable.

I figured that this 7 game road trip felt like a make or break and it would tell us what this team is really all about.

With one of the toughest schedules in the league, Having played 13 games on the road and having a road record of 9-2-2 and 6 games at home. This looks good when the team gets a ease up on their schedule while the other teams go through the hard part of theirs.

When you look at the numbers for the Flames and the system that they're playing, you can't help but feeling optimistic.

Last night’s 5-2 victory was a disturbing freak anomaly. Back to regularly scheduled shutouts.

That's a great point. All of these players have been an overall positive on the team. Gudbranson more than I expected, Zadorov less that I expected, but they have all contributed. They are also all very Sutter-style players.

Defence was a big concern of mine, especially with the loss of Gio. Kylington's coming out party, and Mangi's streak, are a huge internal plus.

Can't wait to hear Oilers fans use Boston playing their backup (If you even consider Ullmark a starter) as an excuse when that's been a regular occurrence for the Oilers this season.

I wonder if the Flames can match or exceed the modern hasek record of things that shall not be named in a season.

Hiring a winning experienced coach makes a difference. Just to think there were some who thought D.Sutter couldn't coach in today's NHL. Darryl doesn't waste time meddling in what doesn't work all he is interested in is wins.
