There was a 2 hour special look at the Star Wars Disney park tonight on ABC Spark. Beyond the fact that it just looks amazing. They did a preview of Rise of the Resistance as an interactive attraction and the Star Cruiser attraction where you spend 2 days and 3 nights on a cruiser.
I think I'm going to have to take a trip to Disney and kiss my retirement fund goodbye

There are so many stories that could be told, for a huge galaxy the stories have been on a relatively small scale and completely focused on what we could generously call the force wars between the Dark and the Light.
There could easily be a show about random things happening in Coruscant. Maybe it hasn't been done yet because it wouldn't be "Star Wars" enough, I don't know...but I'd enjoy it. I thought the many parts of the EU/Legends books that focused on Coruscant were pretty cool.
(and since I've said it so many times here, I'll keep this short - but please make an X-Wing TV series!)

That cruise sounds interesting. I think they said they was a one-day excursion to some planet. Is that planet Epcot? What happens if you want to leave the hotel? Can you not get back in? Is there anything else like this anywhere in the world right now?

It sounds like the "excursion" will be to the Star Wars land at Disney Studios. I'm not sure if they'll force you to only stay in that part of the park or not.
Beyond that, it appears the plan is for them to treat it like any other cruise where you're "on the ship" for the duration of your stay and everything you do will be on board.
I suspect that once you check-in, you'll only be able to leave for the excursion to the park or in case of emergency.

You know what game would make a fantastic story?
Well there's two
X-Wing Alliance, which follows a shipping/smuggling family.
Tie Fighter - Follows a tie fighter pilot in the service of the Empire who becomes a agent of the Emperor himself.
Those two games had amazing story lines.

On the one hand its interesting that they signed huge deals with Netflix and Disney at more or less the same time and surprising that they'd choose to go with Netflix rather than Star Wars.
Maybe Netflix's contract was a little more iron-clad?
In some ways it is good to know that there are some people who arent owned by the House of Mouse.

I kind of agree on this, at first I was excited to see what they could do with it, then I just took a look at what they did with GoT post source material.
I'm ok with this decision. Now if we could get Johnson out of there.. and let's bring in the Russo brothers.

Taika Waititi could be really good too.
Thor: Ragnarok pretty much felt like and extended film that took place at the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars.
Will be interesting to see what he does with his episode of The Mandalorian.
If it's fan made, good. Please don't bring back Darth Maul. FFS, make new characters.
Also, way more excited for the Mandalorian and Kenobi than I am for any more movies. I just hope they do some long term story arcs and really flesh things out. Take their time
