Default The Old Man dies

Rick Harrison Sr. of Pawn Stars died today. Weird story. I used to sell stuff at that pawn shop when I was living in Vegas. It was right up the road from me. It scared me going in there cause it was such a serious place. You did not f around when you were in there selling stuff. I had all kinds of roman artifacts leftover when I sold my business. The old man came out to look at them and said "making you an offer ain't gonna be good for either of us". I remember it very well.

I had never heard of him but the thread title sounds like something from the Onion: "Old Man Dies".

After reading the article though sounds like he had an interesting life.

To the OP what does "making you an offer ain't gonna be good for either of us" even mean?

I think it meant he thought I had stolen the stuff. It was a great big lot of coins and charms and stuff that still had auction tags on it. I had a business that made jewelry out of old stuff and sold artifacts. I think the Old Man would have bought it anyway but given me a super low offer.

I don’t know anything about this guy, but your story sounds pretty damn interesting! Roman artifacts? Vegas pawning? Vague references to your “business”?

Maybe you should start a “I used to have a super interesting business in Vegas, ask me anything” thread.

It's not that interesting but I should have stuck with it. The other guys have done really well. I just wasn't smart enough to see what I had.
