Default 2016 MLS Season

Great win for TFC vs Red Bulls today.

Very disappointed by the Whitecaps losing to a Drogba-less Impact.

I know it was only one game, and they looked great after one game last year too, but:

1) They sustained a long period of opposition possession without surrendering goal(s) or many high quality chances

2) They actually looked organized at the back, considering 3/5 of the back are new, really organized

3) Michael Bradley kept his discipline and stayed in front of the back 4 more than has been seen since he showed up. Not having a dedicated DM, that is huge at limiting opposition chances.

4) Will Johnson was EVERYWHERE. Amazing work rate. He must be so annoying to play against.

5) It's no longer terrifying to pass back to the GK. Irwin's distribution and ball handling is way beyond Konopka/Bendik

6) Endoh looks at the very least to be a potentially interesting piece

I have no idea how this formation will work when Altidore is back, but in many stretches you could see how much he is missed. Giovinco plays off the space he creates, and it's tough when he's up on an island.

The second goal by MTL was total amateur hour by the Whitecap goaltender.

I think Bradley will have to be very disciplined at CDM this year. He has a tendency to go chasing and get caught up field.

Mo Babouli was signed to the first team, I can't wait for him to get a chance to play.

Giovincos motorcycle celebration was sick.

Ousted and Waston looked a mess. That's surprising considering how they are usually great.

The TFC / NYRB just further validated my thoughts that Daniel Lovitz should never be on an MLS pitch again. Once they got him off and brought on Delgado there was some life in the team. I agree that Endoh looks like a good pickup as well. I've always thought Babouli was overrated but I'm curious to see what he can bring at the MLS level. He did look a lot better in preseason than he did with TFC II last year.

Fraser Aird was really bad defensively in the first half of the Whitecaps game but he improved in the second half. Octavio Rivero is a bum. Piatti is fantastic. That's about it on that game from me.

Also, how about Cyle Larin getting a goal and setting up the tying goal in extra time in Orlando?

The Impact spank Red Bulls 3-0 at home. Piaitti looks like the early favorite for league MVP.

Seattle loses 2-1 at RSL and are now 0-2. I hate the Sounders.

Vancouver loses 2-1 at Kansas City. The Wjitecaps look really poor. I don't understand why Robbo won't play two up front.

Why the Whitecaps signed Deybi Flores, and how he starts over Froese was beyond me. He was terrible last year, and his give away led to the first goal by Dwyer.

Whitecaps look bad this year. Their DPs are horribly overrated, although I do think Laba is worth the DP money. Morales is very inconsistent in his play; at times he looks fantastic, but more often than not he's invisible. Rivero has a great work rate but not much else going for him.

Mattocks officially to the Timbers. He's been rather disappointing, so I'm hoping that a reunion with Caleb Porter will rekindle his potential. We're gonna ride or die with former Akron players.

He is arrogant as hell. Although I find many Jamaican players to be pretty cocky. I think he'll do fine.

So many red cards to start the season. Ruined both the TFC and Vancouver games today...

TFC home opener today in their renovated stadium with a roof after 8 games on the road. Apparently it will be a sell out.

Will TFC blow it and send fans home disappointed? Stay tuned.

^Shockingly no!

Interesting situation in Columbus with Higuain and Kamara getting into a squabble on field about who was going to take a PK.

The managed to melt down and give up a 3 goal lead to tie 4-4.

After the game Kamara lit up Higuain in his post game interview, and is now suspended by the team for 1 game. He refuses to apologize for what he said.

I'd say his time is done if they can find a way out for him.

Kamara traded to New England.

Crazy how that all transpired.

Whitecaps FW Masato Kudo got knocked the #### out in in a collision with the keeper in last night's game. Suffered a concussion and a broken jaw, probably out for the year.

Kudo is back! Scored a goal against Orlando in a game that had everything.

MLS has been really entertaining lately. Lots of goals!

And Toronto FC lost against 9 men LOL

Montreal - NYCFC at 3pm today should be fun, Pirlo, Lampard, Drogba etc...
